^ Agreed, but what if his game-plan is to strike? Almost as a way to prove to himself he can beat the best at their own game. I wouldn't put it past Mir to try and stand with Cro-Cop for the first 2 minutes.

Are you kidding me? He strays from his gameplan in every fight which makes me question if he even has a gameplan. He is stupidly going to try and stand with Crocop, just like he tried to stand with Shane Carwin, then he will get hammered once or twice and that will be it. He is way too confident going into this fight and i don't know how you can be when the guy across from you has a one punch/kick knockout capability.

yeah he stood with carwin but theres not much else you can do when your opponent is the better wrestler and striker. is mir arrogant enough to stand and trade with cro cop? no doubt about it. but hes been improving his striking while cro cop has been on the downhill since joining the ufc.
cro cop was cut from ufc not too long ago if im not mistaken. the days of "right leg: hospital, left leg: cemetery" are over

Hi Guys. I saw your posts here, I'm from Croatia, and I was reading our newspaper, CRO-Cop said that this could be his last fight cause he's got problems with his knee, and he says himself that he is not well prepared, and that he is not even well motivated, cause he's doing it only because of contract he got, and that maybe he would retire after this match. So, I dont think that Mirko could win this match. And I'm sorry about that, cause I like Mirko very much.....

I agree with you that his prime was probably about 5-6 years ago, but i still think he packs a lot of power in that left kick and he is a much much better boxer then Mir. As we always say with cro-cop fights, if he can keep the fight upstairs I don't think Mir has a shot. I think Mir is stubborn and dumb enough to make this fight a stand up fight, and I think he will get crushed because of it.

Now that Mir is in decent shape, and has improved striking I cant see him losing to anybody that isnt a strong wrestler.

This is a statement fight for Mir. I think he'll pull the same gameplan as he did against Kongo: when the takedown is available, he'll go for it immediately. Though, CroCop has a much better sprawl than Kongo. But once it gets to the ground, Mir will submit Crocop.

. No play on the side for me in this fight but there is absolutely noone on CroCop in this fight. If I was on Mir I'd be slightly worried just because of this. At least Mirko came in @ 227lb. Looks to be in good shape and it should add to his speed advantage. I just want the fight to last until the second round and I'll be happy....but as a fan....WAR MIRKO!!!

i have learned that nothing ever is for sure.I see mir winning in the second round but anything could happen.A fighter could get injured while throwing a punch ,a kick or even by moving his body the wrong way.

I was on Cro-Cop ... I actually bet on him +215 and posted it on my thread but then chickened out and hedged at the last minute. Now it's a small loss for me either way

Crocop's got the right leg hospital, left leg cemetery. That probably wont be enough to stop Frank Mir in this fight though.

Honestly when have you seen mir lose a stand up battle? VERA 4 years ago??? The mans standup has improved dramatically and if I remember correctly Mir was winning the stand up both times against carwin and lesnar. They had to clinch/takedown to avoid his strike. And when he fought a "striker" in kongo he made him see stars before making him see pitch black. There is no way mir can lose. Not to mention mirko is not coming off any "momentum" with his wins. They were all VERY VERY sloppy wins and im convinced pat barry sub-consciously let mirko win that fight because he rocked mirko but let him recover in more then one instance. Mir by tko if you ask me.
