    Vitor Belfort injured!!
"An injury has forced Vitor Belfort out of his UFC 122 main event fight against Yushin Okami in Germany. In to replace Belfort will be Nate Marquardt, who just picked up a TKO win over Rousimar Palhares at UFC Fight Night 22."

lol, does this injury put Belfort in line for the title to replace Sonnen

That would be kind of funny if Vitor got the title shot. You would think they would hold off replacing him until the situation with Sonnen was straightened out. That way they could know for sure who Anderson would fight next.

Belfort is injured. This is not a fake injury to give silva a new opponent.

Watch some old fights on youtube, they are the best middleweights in the UFC outside of Anderson Silva.

Like someone else said, this is a little too convenient for me following Sonnen's positive test for me to really think Vitor is injured, but I love me an Anderson Silva fight so who cares!

Looks like Belfort isn't hurt, they might be moving him to fight Silva instead.

Wouldn't be suprised if he wasn't really injured. They wanted Silva/Belfort from the begining, then he got injured and Maia took his spot. Then after Sonnen did so well, that rematch made too much sense, but with the posituve drug test the Belfort fight now becomes the bigger fight. There was no guarantee Belfort could beat Okami anyway so might as well get Silva/Belfort done

He's not injured, Tompkins confirmed on his twitter that Belfort is 100% healthy.

"UFC President Dana White on Wednesday made the announcement via Twitter, and though no official date was pegged, all signs point to a Silva-Belfort showdown in early 2011, perhaps as soon as New Year’s Day"

Vitor Belfort is getting his long-awaited title shot against middleweight champion Anderson Silva sooner than expected.
Despite reports that an injury forced Belfort out of November’s UFC 122 against fellow contender Yushin Okami, UFC President Dana White has confirmed Belfort is healthy and will challenge Silva for title early next year, possibly in the main event of UFC 125 on January 1 in Las Vegas.
“Vitor is not injured. He is going to fight Anderson [Silva] for the title and the winner of [UFC 122's Nate] Marquart and [Yushin] Okami are next,” White announced on Twitter.
Belfort was pulled from the UFC 122 main event against Okami and replaced by Marquardt earlier today so he could challenge Silva after a planned rematch between Silva and Chael Sonnen was derailed by Sonnen’s failed drug test following their first meeting at UFC 117.

I have to disagree...Chael has pretty much unmatchable wrestling ability, Okami even went to train with him after he lost to Sonnen. I think it will be a grappling match, definitely, but not a one-sided affair.

I think we will learn a lot about each fighter and whether or not they've truly learned from their defeats. Granted I like Nate and would love to see him and Anderson go again, I think we need to see if he can fight a smart 15 minutes otherwise we might have found our Rich Franklin 2.0.

Called this exactly. Marquardt is basically taking Belforts spot so that Belfort can fight for the title 2 months later. This doesn't make much sense to me, but whatever the UFC thinks is right I guess. I personally believe that Marquardt should have got the title shot first. Especially since the recovery for Belfort is still an unknown factor.
