Nothing for Fight Night(other than Ross as a big favorite) or UFC 119 really does it for me betting wise. But I am really confident with Meat as a small fave over Beltran. And yes, I understand that Meat has a terrible loss in recent history and two sort of cake opponents, while Beltran is 2-0 in the UFC. But stylistically, this is not a good fight for Beltran. Meat will have a lot of size on him, as well as athleticism, knockout power, and strength. Beltran is pretty much a grinder, good at no particular aspect of MMA. He has two losses on his record to a LHW, Tony Lopez. He's a terribly sloppy brawler, who really relies on an accumulation of punches to TKO his opponents and not the typical HW one punch KO ability. He also likes to lean guy's against the cage, which won't do him much help against a much stronger opponent. I think Beltran is just overmatched here.

#2i don't think ur crazy at all here. mitrione has the reach and likes to use jabs and straight bombs plus and the factor here for me if he executes is the leg kicks. he has terrific form and great power in them. hope he uses themComment -

#5I don't think you're crazy, but here's why I like Beltran in this match up:
* 15 fights vs 2 fights
* 4 years experience vs 1 year
* The weight difference will only be 5% or so. (239 vs 253 in their last fights)
* Mitrione better be working his conditioning if he's going to throw bombs, because Beltran has gone 5 rounds before.Comment -

Mitrione is definitely bigger, stronger, more athletic, more power in his strikes, straight punches compared to Beltran's looping shots, more upside, powerful leg kicks, probably as good of heart. Damn, I love this matchup in Meat's favor. But I can't go crazy betting on a guy that has only beaten Marcus Jones and Kimbo.Comment -

#10I like Mitrione too, but not big. Beltran probably should win based on their fight footage, but it seems to me that Mitrione is a hard worker who really wants to get better in mma. He looked way better against Kimbo than he ever did on TUF. I'm expecting more improvement out of Mitrione and a quick WComment -

#11Hard to bet against anybody who from Duke Rouffus' Milwaukee and Wisconsin camps at the moment. All of the fighters out of there show great improvement every time they fight. We've all seen how well Askren has done in Bellator, Belcher has looked better in every fight and recently choked out Cote, Showtime Pettis is one of the best lightweights out there already IMO and he's only in his early 20s. Then Pat Barry looks better every fight and was dominating Cro-Cop until he broke his hand and foot. With dudes like these to train with Mitrione should have a great camp and definitely utilise leg-kicks as his main weapon against The Mexicutioner which he's constantly working on with Barry and Rouffus. Nonetheless, -175 is a bit steep for me and I expected it to be closer to -135 to -150, as Beltran has big experience advantage. Will probly put Mitrione in a double or treble parlay, or take a Mitrione by decision prop bet.Comment -

Good point about the coaching too. Mitrione is definitely growing quick. He was in the NFL, so you can't question his athleticism.
I just really believe had this matchup been set up after maybe one or two bouts more of Mitrione and Beltran's fights Meat would be at -350 or something. Beltran's sloppy crap may marginally get him by Tim Hague. But I feel it's in for bad news against Meat.
I consider this matchup like Chris Tuscherer vs Brandon Schaub. One sloppy fat HW that's reached his peak against a prospect with much better striking, good training camp, and more room for improvement.Comment -

#18Yeah I agree with you most likely Mitrione will win over Beltran. The only thing I can see as a downfall for Mitrione is his gas tank. In TUF him and scott junk gasses out pretty quickly; however, he did show some improvement in the kimbo fight but still gassed a little but they were working a lot so its understandable. But good thing is that Beltran can gas as easily as seen in Hague fight. O also one more thing about mitrione is that hes got a good chin to take punches.Comment -

#20im liking beltran in the matchup and it helps he opened at -175. Im not sure why anyone would put much stock in the kimbo fight, kimbo is not an mma fighter and mitrione beat him with leg kicks. Beltran has been around the block against much better comp and you can't undervalue that 5 rounder against tony lopez. Matts gastank is suspect and aside from his kicks, meats hands are nothing out of the oridinary. I expect another sloppy 3 rounder with beltrans name on it.Comment -

#21i grabbed mitrione at -140..and i`m still not sure i`m keeping it........i think,despite the relative inexperience,he actually has some advantages here...size in general(height/reach/weight).....
and he`s a lefty(an advantage in what looks to be a stand-up battle)...mitrione`s stand up looks more polished than beltran`s....
what is worrisome is his cardio....beltran doesn`t seem to tire easily...meat does...beltran doesn`t mind taking punishment....as someone earlier said,he just grinds guys down...
i could see beltran comfortably losing the fight,but inevitably just outlasting mitrione...
-140 is about the max i`d lay here...Comment -
