Oh I'm sure he will have something. Possibly a ruptured vertebrae or maybe osteoporosis.

he looked jaded and disinterested, like he didn't even want it that bad. Might be time for B.J to retire.

I'd like to see BJ move to another camp. It seems like he's surrounded by yes men in his and his game isn't changing whatsoever.

Exactly... BJ is a beast, but when he comes out with the EXACT same gameplan that got him beat in the first fight you know something is wrong

Can't teach heart/passion no matter who is in your camp and it's pretty apparent that BJ has lost the desire to be the best anymore.

His cornermen were ridiculous, ultimate yes men!...all just patting him on the back telling him how great he feels and to just relax, Parillo is a terrible coach!

Agree with this whole heartedly. His camp is horrible but he just doesnt seem to care anymore. He had no gameplan last night, but he showed no desire to do anything but counter with jabs which is exactly what lost him the first fight. I couldnt believe the complete lack of urgency going into the last 2 rounds.

as much as i would like for bj to go to another camp, train better etc. its not happening... he has made to much money over the years and thinks that he is gods gift to mma... depending on bj's next match i expect him to come out big.... ie. he needs to fight a guy that is not as twitchy as edgar, he feasts on guys that come after him and doesent dodge out and in...
dana give us penn vs gomi....

I agree, BJ vs Gomi makes perfect sense right now!

BJ: How am I doing coach.
Coach: He's killing you with his speed.
BJ: What should I do?
Coach: Dont worry about it you're doing great.
Coach: Keep doing what you're doing you're getting this little biotch.
BJ: Am I winning this fight.
Coach: He might of stole a round from you.
LMAO. What a joke.

haha yeah comedy! Highlight was wen Parillo went into tourettes mode and started calling Frankie a 'cock-sucka' like some sort of Italian-American-Soprano wannabee from New Joysey!

1. anybody he doesnt dominate gets to him mentally and he fold unde the pressure
2. We hear about his bjj but he seldom uses it
3. IF im not mistaken, he doenst even have a 3 fight winning streak in ufc

Did anybody else get the sense Penn simply didn't want the fight? As if he conceded defeat a long time ago and just went through the motions.

Penn is now 4-3-1 in Lightweight championship fights in the UFC, nothing spectacular. These two losses to Edgar really take down his "Prodigy" status

Funnies BJ Video ever this theard reminded me of it.
Even in the pre-fight presser he was saying how the title didn't matter to him, and how he planned on calling out a welterweight after the fight. To say this fight was conceded wouldn't be to far from the truth. He just needs a new camp. What happened to the strength and conditioning he was doing before the Florian and Sanchez fights?

Yee wierd how he just suddenly stopped training with the Marinovich brothers after he spent a whole countdown show before the Sanchez show saying how there techniques are evolutionary and better than any body else in the game!

This was the worst I can remember BJ looking at 155. Remember the Pulver fight? He actually LOOKED like he was 155... abs and all! As soon as he took his shirt off you could tell that BJ was not going to win this fight. It's simple for him. Train cardio/quickness for real and he's an excellent fighter. Spend 3 months in camp with his yes-men coaches, brother, and mommy and he's a pudgy, slow lightweight who can't get out of his own way. BIG waste of talent. I used to be a big BJ fan, but not anymore. To see him squander the natural talent that so many others would give anything to have is incredibly frustrating. I'm sure he worked his ass off to win gold in brazil in BJJ in 4 years of training, and there weren't any cameras following him then. He needs to remember what it was like then and get back to basics. Hard work = success. This guy just flat out doesn't know how to work hard anymore.

Another thing to look at is BJ's motivation. Before this fight he had fought several fights with opponents that talked up the fight. Edgar did not. Yes, Edgar beat him the first time, but BJ and his camp probably thought BJ won the fight. With this attitude BJ could of thought Edgar would do more of the same and with the skills he already had he could win the second fight easily. It was obvious that BJ didn't come in with anything different in the second fight, but Edgar came in a new fighter.
Never seen that one lol. Tried to find BJ as jabba the hut from when he came back to the ufc, but no luck.

The Marinovich techniques are way better than anyone else in the sports performance game... I think BJ's camp just thought they didn't need Marv anymore and thought they could do it themselves, but what they didn't realize is that there is a lot more to it than just learning the exercises. They lacked the in depth knowledge of Marv's system. They also probably just did the strength part of the training program...the real results come from the nervous system part (pool workout, etc).

BJ Penn puts on his best performances when people are talking a lot of smack. Look at what he did to Jens Pulver after coaching TUF, or Diego Sanchez. On the other hand, someone like Edgar, or GSP are very humble, full of respect, and they don't fuel Penn's motivation.

Ye true, but Edgar and GSP are on a whole different level to Sanchez, Pulver, Joe Daddy and even Florian.
