#38Sorry PBB, I really liked Florian here. The hedge is never a bad play especially on the last leg of a parlay, but you're only suppose to bet enough to cover what you bet on the parlay plus give yourself a little profit. Never risk 2/3 of what you are going to win. I guess I should have mentioned that earlier.Comment -

#40I disagree, I think the hedge is the worst play you could possibly make. You picked a fighter for a reason. You saw the value initially and unless something significant has changed you should stick with your play. The best thing you could have done is not put Maynard in the parlay if you were thinking of doing this to begin with. Just because your first picks hit doesn't mean you should hedge, you will lose money if you continue using this strategy. What if you hadn't put Maynard in the parlay? Does this mean you should hedge the guy at the end if the others win? It's a very easy way to lose money for no reason.Originally posted by snake11eyesSorry PBB, I really liked Florian here. #41Sorry Kaladarus, I understand what you're saying, but agree to disagree. When I say hedge I don't mean half or even a quarter of your potential win. Just enough to cover the cost and turn a small profit. The way I see it is you have a 4 team parlay risking 100 to win 2000. The first 3 win and we'll use Florian/Maynard for the last leg. First, you place the bet on Florian 300 to win 200 leaving you with option 1 either +100/+1700. Second, you don't place the bet leaving you with option 2 either -100/+2000. I choose 1. The only time I would even consider not placing the bet is if fight 4 is your best bet of the parlay and even then I probably still would hedge, but that's just me.Comment -

#43I guess it's not that bad the way you say it in a big parlay, but wouldn't you rather just not include the last leg in the parlay if you're planning to hedge from the start? You don't really get the same value when you plan on doing this. The odds increase significantly for each fighter you add, but the odds of you making it to that last leg also increase. Or are you referring to only long shot parlays that have made it far.Originally posted by snake11eyesSorry Kaladarus, I understand what you're saying, but agree to disagree.
