Nice glad he stayed at WW. Kampmann would be a great fight for him to show where he stands in the UFC. With Alves and Fitch locked, GSP and Koscheck locked for a long time, the winner could end up fighting the winner of Alves and Fitch for the #1 contender.

Yean Kampmann seems to be the only guy coming off a win who is available. If they go for someone coming off a loss they can go with Thiago, Johnson, Sanchez, Swick

glade he went to the ufc for strikeforces sake..... because they would have had to overpay for a fighter that cant and wont be marketed properly by strikeforce

i predict sheilds becoming a bust in the ufc... sheilds is generally a boring methodical fighter which wont get him to many fans and he is not great in anything (boxing,wrestling, takedowns) he is just good at everything.... i personally think he'll get that shot at gsp and be humiliated and then loose a couple in a row by the likes of fitch and koscheck and then be dumped on his ass....

I tend to agree. I think most of the top contenders would give him fits.

Glad to see him start out at WW. I don't see him becoming any sort of superstar, though. It's hard to hype his game as anything exciting.

Shields is boring, but he's a good wrestler. He'll give a lot of guys trouble, but GSP is not a lot of guys. GSP will whoop his ass.

True, he's not the most exciting to watch, but he does know how to wrestle and control someone on the ground.

It looks like Shields is gonna face kampann in his first fight. If shield scan avoid the strikes from martin,and get the fight to the ground he should be able to get a sub or dec

Kampmannn has never been submitted, and has fought guys like Leites and Thiago. If they do fight and shields wins it would likely be by decision, and shields taking him down round after round. I may take Kampmann in this fight if the odds are right. he's got the advantage on the feet and good BJJ.

Kampmann is no joke, but Shields should defeat him. He's a much better wrestler and will be able to win the fight handily from top position. Probably by decision, but a submission is not out of the question either. Shields will have trouble against the likes of GSP, Fitch, Koscheck or Alves, but not Kampmann.

What Condit vs Kampmann? Dont seem to remember it being tht boring! I wont ever bet on or against Kampmann again after the P.Thiago debacle...I was well off on tht one! However, this fight offers an easy opportunity for money with a prop bet as it will most probably go to decision.

It was Shields vs. Condit, that one was very boring. Kampminn vs. Condit was awesome, lots of action. And yes I agree this one will probably go to a decision, I don't see Shields submitting Kampmann, so he will probably L&P to a victory.

Man i hope not, this is why I wasn't excited about shields coming to the ufc. He might be more boring than Jon Fitch.
