Lance Palmer, Mark Ellis Sign With MMA Agencies
Two to definitely keep an eye on:

Up and coming mixed martial arts prospect Lance Palmer has a new agency to call home. The former Ohio State University wrestler has signed on with MMA agency MMA Incorporated today for an exclusive management and marketing deal.

Palmer, who has yet to make his professional debut in the sport, was a four-time All American wrestler as a Buckeye. In 2010, he earned the title of Big Ten Champion and was also a finalist in the NCAA Division 1 National Championship that year. He competed in the 149 pound weight class.

At the age of 23 now, Palmer will be making the move out to Sacramento, California to work with the likes of Urijah Faber and Joseph Benavidez as a member of Team Alpha Male, and the most notable member of the California-based team seems excited about his arrival.

“Palmer will be a great fit for Team Alpha Male,” Faber said. “He has the type of work ethic we look for in a team member and is one of the toughest wrestlers in the country. He has a champion’s mentality and that is what we look for in our teammates.”

But Palmer is not the only fighter making the move to a top agency today, as Mark Ellis has joined Zinkin Entertainment’s impressive list of fighters.

Ellis, a two-time All-American wrestler and NCAA champion, was a top national wrestler at the University of Missouri. He joins college teammate and Bellator’s welterweight winner of the promotion’s second season tournament at Zinkin.

Like Palmer, Ellis, a natural heavyweight at 6′3″ and 265 pounds, will be making the move to a top camp. He will join the likes of Cain Velasquez, Josh Koscheck and Jon Fitch at the world-renowned American Kickboxing Academy in San Jose, California to train under coaches Bob Cook, Javier Mendez and Dave Camarillo prior to making his debut in mixed martial arts sometime in the near future.
