I think the title of this thread says it all. I wonder if he even fights the last fight on his contract. Only options are Silva or rematches with Rogers and Arlovski. Wish he could have pulled it out because I would have hammered Overeem.

fedors career choices made it so he couldnt lose a fight and be taken seriously. i had that gut feeling he would lose this and i was close to betting werdum.

not to downplay what he has done, but 1 loss for him drops his stock a lot compared to any other fighter.

"UFC reject beats Fedor in less than two minutes" ufc reject is misleading. yes he was let go but it was after he was unwilling to renegotiate his contract after the Dos Santos loss. Before that he had KO'd Vera and Gonzaga, at the time top 5 UFC heavyweights. Werdum also had a sub win over currnet StrikeForce champ Overeem, he is no scrub

vera has already shown he's having problems at light heavyweight much less hw. gonzaga got stomped easily by JDS. let's be honest, werdum would get killed by the top four of the UFC. don't make werdum to be anywhere near the the top four of the UFC, he's not even close.

fedor can easily get back the respect he lost tonight by joining the ufc and beating top competition. either that or continue to avoid fighting top competitors like he has been doing for the last five years and lose respect.

He should fight Big Foot Silva at Strikeforce's next show to get back in the win column.

I AGREE. he set himself up in a lose lose. He will always be looked at as the guy who wouldnt go fight the top guys. And this loss or any loss will never be anything short of a disaster for him.

great then he's a top 4-8 in the UFC HW division, He's better than most UFC HW's. Again saying he's a "reject" means he couldn't compete with the UFC HW's, not the case

its really not that big of a deal, fedor beat himself last night. It was the error he made, he basically put himself in danger twice and even said he thought he was not in trouble and would be able to get out.

A week ago or so he had an article about how he was "not worried about werdum's bjj," well it was pretty obvious last night that was true. He showed no respect for werdums ground game and it cost him. The rematch will go as expected, hopefully it doesn't take 6 months to happen.

fedor had a quick win but instead figured out exactly what to do to loose this fight. He is no longer the best after that performance.

If Fedor showed some respect to Werdum's BJJ, it would have been an easy win. Fedor usually gets out of bad situations no problem. I guess he figured he would finish Werdum right then and there. It was a fluke victory. Werdum didn't beat Fedor, Fedor beat himself. Watching the fight I was wondering why he didn't get his arm out after escaping the first time. He felt too comfortable and just left it there probably thinking he would get a quick stoppage.

Fedor wins the re-match, he will be more measured and have a better gameplan.

Scott Coker and M-1 are both trying to sell people on a rematch already. I wasn't hyped for the first fight, I'll care less about the second. They screwed themselves. If anyone was going to beat him, it should have been Overeem. Bye, bye cash cow.

this is a tough blow to stikeforce, but i dont think fedor losing is gonna kill them.Unlike all of the other propmotions that have failed, coker has alot of years in the fight game and knows what hes doing.
