he can lose a decision and he can get tapped again for sure, even TKO'd in a crucifix or mount. in the past his crazy explosion and speed got him out of a lot of trouble his lack of technique got him into, now his athleticism is decreasing due to age its leaving him more exposed at times. Werdum is a lot better than ppl think even now.

I am not that impressed by Carwin and Brock beating Mir, who is not much better than underrated Nelson who outgrappled him.
That's my point. The fact that he was in a lot of trouble in a number of his fights and always emerged the winner in spite of it is precisely what gave him his aura of invincibility. It didn't matter if he was suplexed by Randleman or rocked by Fujita, he would always pull through and win (and usually in decisive fashion).

For the record, I didn't bet Fedor; I thought he would win but knew Werdum was being undervalued at those odds.

To my mind Fedor is still #1, though obviously the gap has been reduced. Werdum was always an underrated fighter but he will be the underdog for the rematch (if it happens) and rightly so. Fedor shouldn't bother going to the ground at all, but if he does (since he is never afraid to take the fight anywhere, regardless of opponent), I think he'll be far more cautious next time around. Werdum is definitely top 5 but one win (even against Fedor) is not enough catapult him above the man who has been undefeated for 10 years. If he beats him again, obviously that would cement him as the new #1.
