hels, I'm with you on this one. I wasn't impressed with what I saw from the aging CroCop in his fight against Dos Santos. I'll roll with the younger Pat Barry as well.

Other way to look at it is he's the only one to get out of the 1st against Dos Santos and we don't know how Barry's cardio is, plus his ground game is nil. Just playing devil's advocate

Only thing that worries me about Pat Barry is he has gained 20 odd lbs and it doesn't look like muscle.

I noticed that as well in the weigh-ins. He was already an extremely big boy and of course fighting in heavy weight it's highly advantageous to have as much weight as possible as long as it isn't detrimental to performance. It's been 8 months since his last fight and with his previous work ethic I have difficulty seeing him slacking off as he had lost to Hague before beeting Hardonk. He's a knockout fighter who knows that the longer it goes with CroCop the more likely he could be taken down which would be highly disadvantageous for him. He'll look to hurt Crocop early and take it from there.

Cro Cop was smart to watch that UFC 115 Countdown show which aired on SpikeTV.

Pat Barry shown on that show that he is a newb at wrestling and submission. Not like you could turn into a black belt BJJ overnight. I believe Cro Cop took advantage of this.

he did not need the countdown show, just match a couple of his previous fights.... he NEVER went to the ground once untill the hauge fight where he was choked out..... you guys are giving way to much respect for barry, cro cop won this fight fair and square....

Franklin broke his arm, but he managed to win. Pat Barry lost to a seasoned vet that just wanted it more. I was really impressed with what I saw from Mirko in the third round.

well what do you see there, both injuries happened in the first round. Clear reason why pat lost his main weapon, speed advantage.

.. some call it an excuse, i call it reality. Assuming CC takes on another legit HW he is going to get destroyed. A rematch however, would be amazing for bettors.

the strangest thing for me in this fight was that Cro Cop choked him out without any hooks in at all. was Barry hurt that bad or hasn't he ever trained jiu-jitsu? he could have at least turned into him and tried to pull guard

same thing can be said for barry..... if he fights anyone other then a striker he is going to either get tapped quick (hauge) or he is just going to get tooled on the ground.... face it barry will be nothing more then a gatekeeper in the ufc, he's 1 dimensional, he's to small for hwand he's not that young (he's 30)....
