#10011Either way, picking certain combos of plays and saying they are somehow 'amazing' is a bit silly. The price of the individual plays are all that matters. If either of these individual plays are amazing, they should be parlayed with every other +EV bet you're making.Comment -

Anyway, I meant I think it's an amazing parlay in the same way that I think a straight play can be amazing; because there's a -lot- of value.
You have any opinions on the Bendo/Melendez fight? I feel as if Melendez is being undervalued because of their respective previous performances, but I can't pull the trigger on a Melendez play.Comment -

#10013Im just working on the basis that this will be close and most likely go the distance so chance that judges give Melendez the nod. Benson should win but strange things have happened.Originally posted by BeelzebubzyWhat the hell? You are on Melendez?Comment -

#10014I can't trust Melendez he looked poor vs Thompson 3 and masvidal both are the poor versions of bendo
im on bendo small by decision parlayed with fayjao
also on Evans. Hendo has been taken down by everyone even welterweight shields (yes I know injury) as well as machida tripped himComment -

#10017I thought Melendez looked great against Masvidal. He easily out-struck a guy whom he was expected to take down and control to an easy UD. Masvidal's a very good striker, and it was a very good performance by Melendez.Comment -

#10018I recall Melendez outstruck in him but it was a slow pace fights I thought Melendez would hit more take downsOriginally posted by MDI thought Melendez looked great against Masvidal. could just be a weird styles matchup as masvidal would counter well. I thought he didn't throw a lot of strikes. Definitely a clear cut win o him but expected more out o himComment -

#10027My favourite band...personally think High Violet is one of the best albums ever made..every song is amazing! I think the new album is gonna be great as well, Only one more month to wait for it! ... they released Demons last week as well... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N527oBKIPMcOriginally posted by MDHeard this recently. #10029I love High Violet. Boxer is their masterpiece though, I think. When High Violet first came out I was overwhelmed by how ridiculously good every individual song was, especially Sorrow and Conversation 16. The more I listened to the two albums, though, the more I thought Boxer was more cohesive and better as a whole. When I listen to music I like to listen to entire albums front to back, and I think Boxer is a better whole album than High Violet is, so for me, personally, Boxer is better.Originally posted by VaughanyMy favourite band...personally think High Violet is one of the best albums ever made..every song is amazing! You ever listened to the Cherry Tree EP? There's a song on there called "About Today" and it's devastating.
You like Interpol?Comment -

#10030ha actually About Today was the song that got me properly in to The National after watching "Warrior"! About Today is on at end after Tom Hardy beats his brother up and wins! "Start a War" is also in Warrior at the start when Nick Nolte's character is first seen. Both songs are pure genius, and IMO the use of these two songs made Warrior a better film than it should be! It's weird because I was always aware of The National and must of heard some of the songs before I saw Warrior - I'd seen them on TV when watching festivals like Reading and Glastonbury, but for some reason I'd never actually sat and listened to one of their albums. But after hearing About Today I went on a crazy rampage and bought every album and became an obsessive!Originally posted by MDI love High Violet. Boxer is their masterpiece though, I think. But you are quite right, it's hard to say which one is better between Boxer and High Violet...both ridiculously good.
My favourite song off Alligator is Mr November... it's comedy seeing Berninger do it live... by the time he does it towards the end of a set he is usually hammered from drinking a bottle of wine whilst on stage and he just goes crazy with the chorus and it sounds terrible but still amazing at same time!

#10032I'm pretty obsessed with Interpol. Turn on the Bright Lights is one of the five best albums I've ever heard.
I actually got into the National while looking for bands that sound like Interpol, and I happened to stumble across them back in 2008. I thought they didn't sound anything like Interpol, but they were awesome, so I didn't care.
Wilco is another band in the same vein. Ever listen to them?

#10041Most fascinating thing about Buckley is that he never recorded 90 percent of his music, in the late 90s and early 2000s there was a frenzy to collect and distribute it, much like there was with Nick Drake, the only difference was that Buckleys "unofficial" music was aeons ahead of what he actually recorded, guy was totally unreal.
Realistically if you heard of him, you have probably heard "Grace", which, don't get me wrong, was an excellent album, but it was released a few years before he died. He went nuts and released some of the best music in the history of rock after that time, though none of it was released "officially", unreal and baffling talent, I'll post some here once I get from my phone to my PC.Comment -

#10042Springsteen, Waits, Cave and Leonard Cohen are the greatest men alive, not necessarily in that order. Surprised to see such good music fans around here.
Just saw Nick Cave two weeks ago for the 3rd time.
Saw Wilco at bonnaroo a few years ago, used to be a big fan, but they've faded a bit for me. Saw Springsteen at the same show. Brilliant, although I prefer his sad songs to the rockier stuff he plays live.Comment -
