i think he should face the winner of franklin liddel..... get him back on track before he takes a fight with machida.... and if franklin or liddel beat him... they will have legitimate credibility facing the top guys in the division

The Liddell/Franklin winner makes the most sense. I'd rather not see him against Machida at this point.

I say a rematch with Liddell is in order for now. He needs to get at least another fight in before he fights Machida. Forrest in my opinion would be too easy of a fight for Rampage. Griffin has been done since Silva used him as a practice dummy last time they fought.

He's no more done then Chuck Liddell. Chuck has been KTFO in 3 or his last 5, and lost 4 of the last 5. Also, Rampage has beaten Chuck twice already. Against Forrest, Rampage lost a controversial decision. Also, Forrest is higher up the 205 food-chain then Chuck right now. IMO, Forrest is the best option. It will get Rampage motivated and a victory would actually mean something.

I think a 2nd Forrest fight or against Franklin would be a good tune up, but Dana White is still pissed Rampage bailed on the 1st fight with Evans and he will give Rampage Machida, I feel it.

I totally did forget that he beat Chuck in Pride as well. A win is definitely in order to bust his Ego back and to bring back the old Rampage people including me love. Whoever he ends up fighting I just can't wait till it happens and I hope he whoops their ass like he use to do. I sure did miss seeing him in that octagon on Saturday after a such of a long wait.

I don't know man. I think Dana knows how big a draw Rampage is and how much money he brings in. He wouldn't want to do serious damage to that by having one of his top earners lose 2 fights in a row.

It depends how the UFC wants to proceed. Do they view Rampage has a title climber or a cash cow? If it's a title contender they won't throw him in against Machida and eliminate that possibility with another loss. If they instead want to capitalize on his name they may use him as a gate keeper to the elites and then a fight against Machida makes a lot of sense. Give him an easy match up if he loses that and then throw him in against Bones a year down the road.

Clearly Rampage wasn't himself against Rashad. Ring rust has proven itself over and over, Rampage is no exception. He seemed to be over-thinking instead of reacting and being instinctive, the way he has always been. He may need another fight or so to get back in his groove, or he may never return to the Rampage of old. Only time will tell.

Yep, we see ring rust all the time, and it was very evident at UFC 114 in Rampage. Tito Ortiz showed a lot of rust in his fight against Forrest as well.
