Shogun had Surgery 2 months prior to Last Nights Fight
Just to add to the epic display last night. Had major surgery and the UFC had a replacement on tap.

Mauricio "Shogun" Rua Underwent Major Surgery on His Appendix Two Months Before UFC 113

The rumors about Shogun's injury were incorrect, but he was not 100% for tonight's fight against Lyoto Machida. Shogun came down with Apendicitis a few months before the fight, and had to undergo major surgery. The procedure was kept under wraps, but Shogun confirmed it tonight on MMA Live.According to UFC sources, the UFC was prepared for the worst case scenario. It was rumored earlier this week that the company had Randy Couture ready to step in to fight Lyoto Machida incase Shogun could not fight.

This guy is tough as nails, lets just hope he won't be visiting the hospital anymore for the most part of his remaining career.
