Being on the losing end of this, I would say it's worse than LESNAR giving up his leg in his first fight or BONES JONES getting himself DQed. This was stupid. SONNEN had this fight won and got tired. Moments later he's tapping out. Pathetic.

If he crushed him like a pepsi can then he would be holding the belt. Silva did what champions do, find a way to win. Its not over to the bell. You can say if this and if that and Sonnen should have did this or shoulda did that, but he didnt and Silva is still the champ.

Weird 5th round the ref stopped it almost immediately; The triangle wasn't secured which boggles my mind I couldn't tell if Sonnen was tapping or trying to locate his own arm it did look like he tapped but then again he immediately looked to free himself after a 50/50 tap?? I kind of wish the ref would have waited just a bit longer for a full on tap out.

Sonnen deserves an immediate rematch; Silva doesn't deserve P4P #1 anymore... The guys exactly what he's always been great striker with a solid ground game average takedown defense and average cardio. Sure he looks good against average strikers and BJJ fighters who cant take anyone down but against wrestlers Silva is just average and unfortunately for him Dana isn't letting him hand pick fights anymore.

I love when a card that's stacked on paper actually plays out in an exciting way. That was a GREAT night of fights. I feel for the Sonnen backers, though. That's got to suck.

Great comeback win for SIlva, but unfortunately I think where staring to see Anderson slip at 35.Hes hands and reflexes didnt look as fast as they used to be, and he even got caught with some shots.I hope Anderson retires before he gets KO'd or loses a decision.It would suck to see him go out like Chuck Liddell Or Roy Jones.

I'm not sure about that. That triangle was locked and Sonnen most definitely tapped. He never bitched once about the fight being ended like that he knew he got caught

Sonnen had one helluva fight. I was backing Silva, and I couldn't tell 100% if he tapped, but after about the 3rd view, I saw his face and his arm movement, there was no blood flow, he was about to pass out.

Great fight. hope there will be a rematch.

I had Sonnen and was hoping the whole fight that he didn't get caught. I knew he had the W locked up when he went into the 5th round and then when I saw him posturing up I had a feeling he was going to get submitted. I can't imagine what Sonnen feels like right now. He had the fight easily won.

When chael adjusted to defend the triangle, Silva got his arm and that's when he tapped. Its easy to get out of a sub after you tap lol.

Thirty more seconds? Looking to see someone die in the ring or what there guy. Quick stoppage definitely but those leg triangles are brutal once they're locked. Great night of fights and that Sonnen/Silva fight was great for everyone involved-Sonnen established himself, Silva showed he does have championship heart and the UFC can again be proud that one of their stars is not behaving like a jackass. Ever been in a triangle choke?

Have one of your buddies put you in a half assed one. See if you can hold on for 30 seconds. He didn't have the triangle locked in at first, but then when he adjusted, and grabbed ahold of his arm, that shit was over. You can't survive a triangle for more than 10 seconds when it's locked in.

Good fight for Sonnen, but for some reason I felt as if Silva could of got him in a triangle in round 3-4

In his speech he said that if he wasn't going to be the best he would move on in life and do something else. He didn't say exactly that, but he's said similar things before. I don't think he's leaving though. From what we saw, we can pretty much assume he'll be back. He's got the potential to be the best.

He said in the post-conference that he'll be back and stronger than ever. Thers no way the UFC would let him leave now tht he is in the mainstream after his epic trolling. They will make a TUF coach for sure...probly against Anderson for a rematch.

Agreed. TUF 13 - USA vs Brazil with Sonnen & Silva as coaches would be fantastic. That would also be the best smack-talking since season 5 in my opinion.
