Berto is parlay worthy here. I would throw him in with a possible Penn and Silva Parlay

If Berto wins I think he'll get the winner of Pacquiao and Mayweather. The welterweight division is great right now.

Actually I'd love to see him fight the winner of Miguel Cotto and Yuri Foreman. And then get a shot at one of the big three: Mayweather, Mosley, Pacquiao.

Cotto and Foreman aren't even in the same weightclass. Neither would drop to Welter for an unproven prospect like Berto and Berto has no reason to drop his belt to jump up in weight.

But this is a joke. I had no idea Berto scheduled another fight already. This confirms my gut feeling that he would have been picked apart by Mosley.

The young fighters today are certifiable pussies. You have guys like Berto and Pavlik finding themselves fit to fight as soon as their original opponent moves on. And guys like Victor Ortiz quitting because they have a little mouse on their eye. And these are the sports' brightest prospects?

                  What a disgrace.

Cotto fought Pacquiao at 147 and is ranked among welterweights. Cotto has never fought above welterweight. Foreman is a light middleweight usually fighting around 154. Cotto and Foreman are fighting in June. Why couldn't Berto fight them? Cotto and him are both welterweights and he could have a catch weight with Foreman or move up.

You do know that Berto never pulled out of the Mosley fight because of injury right? They needed Berto out of the Mosley fight so they could set up Mosley-Mayweather when the Pacquiao fight fell through. The actual reason Berto pulled out of the fight was the earthquake in Haiti. He is Haitian-American and had family in Haiti. Berto is no pussy.

Berto pulled out the week of the Mosley fight because of the Haiti earthquake. Nothing suspicious there. I just find it incredibly ironic he penciled in another scrub for his resume right after Mosley secured the Floyd fight.

Is Mosley/Mayweather the better fight? Yes. Is there a conspiracy involved with getting Berto to withdraw? No. But Berto actually fighting someone of value like Mosley is more beneficial to the sport, even if he loses. Therefore, I have a beef with him for destroying a great opportunity to legitimize his eventual spot as 147's best fighter with Mosley on his record.

With that said, there is nothing for Cotto at 147 anymore, hence the reason he has left the division. Pacquiao has cleaned the division out. Berto is just a young fighter who picked up FLOYD's belt. He will not jump up in weight because he is too small at 154; Foreman will only fight below 154 for a pay day with Manny or Floyd, and it only makes sense for Cotto to pursue a Mayweather fight at 147; who has refused to fight Cotto for years anyway.

147 is dead. 154/160 has more to offer and Cotto's still technically in his prime. Foreman, Williams, Martinez, Spinks, Sergiy, Santos... even guys like Cintron and Angulo are better for Cotto than fighting guys like Alfonso Gomez, Judah and Clottey again and again for the rest of his career.

Why do you think Quintana is a scrub? He has a victory over Paul Williams, even though he got clobbered in the rematch. Who was Berto supposed to fight instead? Not many options as everyone else already had fights signed.

There was a rumor that after Pac - Mayweather fell off, as the best "big name and fairly safe" (I mean, perfect for Mayweather) available was Mosley. But as Mosley already had an scheduled dangerous fight vs. Berto, with real danger of losing... they just paid Berto a hefty sum to step aside. The quake at Haiti was a very convenient excuse.

No props up, but the o/u is set at 8.5 rounds.

Too much juice on Berto. My play is:

                                  Berto vs Quintana o8.5 -155
                                  (3.1u to win 2u)

                                    Finally some props:

                                    Berto ITD -115

                                    Berto by 12rd DEC +183

                                    Quintana ITD +1033

                                    Quitana by 12rd DEC +697

If you like Quintana the 12 rd Dec is the way to go. Now that I have a bet on the over not sure I want to take Berto ITD.

Andre Berto W Carlos Quintana TKO 8

First two rounds were very bad for Berto, but Quintana was unable to capitalize. From the third round onwards, the tide turned and Berto was steamrolling Quintana when the referee decided to stop the fight (after two feints to stop it earlier in the round).
