Mixed Martial Artists aren't generally known for their intelligence. Especially not in the eyes of the general public. However, I happen to think that there are a decent amount of fighters that are very smart. My question is, which MMA fighter do you think has the highest IQ? My pick would be Kenny Florian(Not terribly athletic or naturally gifted. Wins most of his fights because of his brains and strong work ethic) Others that I think would do well are Greg Jackson(not a fighter but the guy is an MMA genius), Fedor(I think he's a lot smarter than most people think), Jeff Monson(a bit radical but the guy is obviously intelligent), Rich Franklin(former Math teacher, good at Math usually=pretty high IQ). I'm sure there are several others. These are just a few off of the top of my head. Which MMA fighter do you think has the highest IQ?

I think this has to do with the fact that many MMA fighters have wrestling backgrounds and, unlike football and basketball players, many wrestlers went to believing that they had no future in athletics (atleast in terms of full time employment).
Nick Tompson graduated law school while training and fighting regularly. He has to be right up there with Florian.Comment -

My guess would be franklin/carwin too because their is a correlation between high levels of math and above average IQ. But, it really could be just about anybody.Comment -

All solid choices for the most part. I forgot about a few of those guys. As for the THE_LOCKSMITH, say what you want about the Diaz brothers but those boys can fight! Nick Diaz has to be one of the most underrated fighters out there. He's got as many fights as Randy Couture and he's only 26 years old! And he's not exactly fighting cupcakes either. I think if Nick Diaz had a more "like-able" personality he could be one of the poster boys for the UFC. That's one thing I really like about Strikeforce. They have a ton of fighters that are just as good if not better than the Champions in the UFC. Fedor, Mousasi, Dan Henderson, Jake Shields, Nick Diaz and even Brett Rogers just to name a few. All of these guys are underrated! However, none of them are very marketable. Not even Fedor. What can I say, Dana's a smart businessman. I'm rambling... I'll stop. Your thoughts anyone?Comment -
