Nope! Nelson is going to dominate him and even TKO him or submit him with a darce choke or americana or something similar! If Buentello can take Struve to a close decision then Nelson can easily beat him.

Yep, Nelson is a very high level grappler, he'll get a hold of one of Struve's long limbs with ease and put him on his back and dominate him.

Same way as Buentello did who is half the striker Nelson is and a tenth as good as Nelson is on the ground!

I've looked at Struve's record and he has a long list of submission victories...

but not against notable names.

He's lanky which makes him dangerous. Roy will have the overall advantage on the ground though.

Roy dominates Struve no matter where the fight goes. Roy is extremely unlikely to get submitted and his stand up is far superior.

I'd favor Mir but I don't think it would be a given. Nelson has beaten Mir in a grappling tournament before.

yes that is true it was a couple years back when big country did not have the belly he has now.... the give Mir the advantage in everything, size, strength,striking, subs.... and they both have shaky chins ie. when they get clipped they go down......

hate roy too but i think he wins here. he has heavier hands and a better ground game. struves long limbs play right into that.

one thing to remember is cardio. Mir was handling nelson in that grappling match until he gassed and nelson returned the favor, the same could be said about his new weight since he has not been out of the first round with it.

I think there would be value in nelson but right now i would lean mir in a 3 round fight.
