    mma: ufc versus 1
    ytd: 17W-12L +$90.72

ok guys i'm playing these 2 and cannot see myself adding.

    b.schaub -195 $50
i like what i saw against nelson and believe in his striking, sprawl and size. i think he has the better striking and is physically stronger and faster.
    2-fighter parlay
    c.guida(-380) and m.pierce(-380) $300 to win $178.67
both these guys grind a decision for what i hope is an easy win. they both have all the superiour tools. a $300 play for me is my top.

    opinions:

    vera +210
he has all the tools to win every fight but seems to lack the killer instinct and fight plan. i think this is a great match-up because jones pushes so hard that vera cannot sit back. he will be forced to engage. a series of leg kicks and a takedown maybe we see jones slow down. i see pure value in this fight

    gonzaga +260 and the over 1.5 -110
i see no reason why gonzaga cannot beat dos santos. zaga has all the tools and size and usually has great 1st rounds. lets not forget he had carwin beat and that desperation punch by carwin would've ko'ed anyone. dos santos has all the tools "apparently" we know his camp is stocked so we have to trust his ground and wrestling however we have yet to see anything but boxing. at +260 i think zaga gets a decent touch.

    marshall +160
i like this kid a lot. he has some all around good skill and just enough stand- up to keep it on the feet. vladdy is a wrestling animal and his top control i believe will neutralize marshalls ground game and active guard. i cannot help but remembering little-nog and vladdy's last fight and just remebering how easy it appeared to strike him. not comparing marshall to nog but it just stands out. good value for a hungry kid. a decison prop could win.

    sakara +120
why not. irvin is a one trick pony and is coming off a long lay off. his hands are dynmite, he wins this in the first 2 minutes with overwhemling striking or sakara hangs in slips around the thunder and uses some technical striking and kicks to set up some takedowns for a submission. really this is a toss up.

    kongo -400
i missed this at a really great opening line around -265. at this price my head tells me to take buentello. he has that bread and butter right and experience. every brawler is dangerous and needs to be looked at when the odds are +360. however i think kongo' legs make the difference and create the room he will need to hit an opening. once that happens he can safely close the distance and take paul's power away to a tko win.

    schafer +140
wow, this is a great line. i have this fight priced at +110 schafer. bottomline for me is schafer is savvy and slick. i have some notes from brilz last fight that is stopping me from pulling the trigger. all in all i think this is a great potential fight of the night. should go back and forth for 3 rounds. schafer by way of a surprising submission.

    howard/roberts??
howard pulled out a last second win in his last fight. he is a tough competitor but i saw some holes that didn't sit well. i think its best to watch another fight and see how he responses. for roberts just looked him up, and i liked what i saw. should be a blazer.

    ludwig/elkins??
little disappointed here as i was ready to unload on fisher befroe pulling out against ludwig. ludwig can flat out punch. should be fun. do not know enough of elkins.

    goodluck everyone!!

Nice effort on the write-ups. I like Guida, but am staying away from Pierce because I have no eval on Paulino.

One might expect the UFC to feed Pierce a "beatable" opponent after stepping up to face Fitch on short notice, but gift opponents can backfire sometimes (see Koscheck vs Paulo Thiago).

I'm contemplating a Guida and Palhares parlay myself...

      BOL to you

Paulino just throws haymakers and has no takedown defence...u cant compare him to Paulo Thiago...Pierce will either get a comfortable decision win or TKO him in second round. Ive got Pierce, Kongo and Jim Miller parlay. Then singles on Marshall and Schaub.

like the over prop in the gonzaga/jds matchup. only way for gonzaga to win is to fight smart and go for takedowns to get a sub

thx for the input guys, always appreciated.
all in all i agree on vera. i really hope he brings it and we get a great fight. it has potential.
gormley looked horrible last time out but this pick was more on schaub. despite that KO i really liked what i saw and just think gormley cannot catch him. again should be a great fight.
pierce takes this down quick can keeps it there. his plan needs(hope) is to grind. his stand up is tight enough to close gaps and confuse feet, he is gritty and tough and i just feel strong that he grabs a takedown early and controls. thats a big unit risk for me, hope it comes through.
                    guida should roll over easily.

guys honestly, really pumped on this card. i think they did a great job on match ups. should be fun.

Not comparing Paulino to Paulo... Comparing the situation -- Not their skill sets.

But thanks for the input because I've never seen Paulino fight, hence my reluctance to wager on this fight.

But the Pierce line is moving, so it seems folks agree with ya

                      Guida line moving too...

I see, yep ther is always a good chance of the last minute call up guy pulling off the surprise win but im hoping that the Mexecutioner Beltran has already used that chance up! Pierce impressed me a lot against Fitch and would of TKOd Fitch if the fight had of been a fiver rounder. Be very shocked if he loses. Gugerty does have the reach advantage and probly is better technically on the ground and striking but Guida's tenacity should be enough.
