5 Dimes Parlay (-136) for 3 Units
Diaz (-250)
Santos (-660)
Lashley (-1300)
The toughest fight in this parlay is the Nick Diaz fight. His skills are far surperior to Zaromskis in every aspect of the game. Unfortunately though, for Diaz, Zaromskis has a hell of a KO punch. He swings for the fences, and can possibly get lucky. I see Diaz getting tagged a little bit trying to stand up, but he should take it to the ground and submit Zaromskis rather easily. Santos is fighting a decently mediocre opponent in Marloes Coenen. Coenen hits hard and is a decent Muay Thai fighter, but she hits hard for a girl. Santos is the hardest hitting female ever to fight MMA. She hits like a guy. Coenen's only shot in this fight is off her back, maybe an armbar or a triangle. She won't get the shot against Cyborg, unfortunately. Lashley's fight is reminiscent of the Kimbo debut. They are throwing a fighter out there for Lashley to shine against. Bobby is very athletic, with nice quick and crisp punches from what I've seen of his training. Wes Sims will not be able to keep up.
Opinions:
Robbie Lawlor (+155)/Melvin Manhoeff (-185)
I lean Manhoeff in this win. Think it will be an epic battle. Lawlor can probably take down Manhoeff and have some success against him, but I don't see that happening in this one. Strikeforce wants to see a standup war between 2 KO artists, the fans want to see a standup war, and so do both fighters. Manhoeff has twenty 1st round stoppages; six of which took place in the first minute of the fight. I think much of the same happens here.
Joe Riggs (+250)/Jay Hieron (-300)
Hieron is a very underrated fighter, and has worked his way up the ladder for years. His most recent fight was a decisive win over former TUF Middleweight Jesse Taylor. Riggs has had well documented problems with both his personal life and his career in the past few years, and has too many holes in his game to keep up with Hieron, IMO. Both of these fighters have heavy hands, and like to throw bombs, which is where Riggs has the edge. However, I look for Heiron to be the smarter fighter, and use his strengths to his advantage. He's an accomplished wrestler, and should look to take Riggs to the ground and control the fight. I like Hieron in a close war, and possibly fight of the night.
Herchel Walker (-345)/Greg Nagy (+285)
Pretty much a pointless fight, IMO. I know Walker trained at the American Kickboxing Academy, and held those open workouts to showcase his err...skills. He looked ok, but I can't see him being that much better than in the gym. Fight tape for the 1-1 Nagy, was hard to come by, so let's just figure he's smart enough to know how to throw some punches, kicks, and be decent on the ground. He also should be smart enough to know that the longer this fight goes, the better off his chances are. I think this line is very inflated, and if I were to take a chance, I'd take the guy who's not 47 years old.
