    Line Setting in MMA
Do you think that offshore linesmakers watch forums when setting lines?

I know they have professionals on top of sports like football and basketball. But, in a fringe sport like MMA, the books do not devote nearly as much time.

Does anyone have any inside info regarding the setting of MMA lines? Are there basically a couple guys in the indusrty in charge of this? You see some pretty big moves.

Would be interesting to hear more on this, terpkeg. I figure most sportsbooks do not invest much in this since the betting limits are so low for MMA anyway.

oddessa posts over at majorwager forum, not sure which book but I think he is a mma linesmaker for carib or sportsbook.com, only two lines I have discussed with him was the fedor vs brock and Gregard vs renato babalu fights, doesnt post as much anymore but you can still catch him from time to time

I use to work in the sports betting industry. I worked for bet online, beted, bodog, betus and worked with Bet jam and sportbet

They don’t set line. The Greek sets the lines and betCRIS and bookmaker are soon to follow

in the past MMA was set by The Greek and was quite loose. now since it is being more popular they have people studying fights to set the lines but these people are no expert by any means

i have never seen the Greek open a mma fight. but i stopped using them some time ago and have not paid to close attention. it appears Cris opens the majority of the time, sometimes Bodog and 5dimes sprinkles some headliners in there.

I am typically on top of the opening lines. My inquiry was: should I avoid discussing/analyzing fights online before the opener because the lines makers for Cris and Bodog will be reading the forums and take what myself and others are saying into consideration.

I thought Oddessa makes pretty much all the odds and the other books copy him.

Joey used to have his own site called bettormma.com and the info he used to drop on there was incredible. That forum was really a wonderful place to goto with some very knowledgeable posters.
