With Nogueira off, this card becomes one of the worst in the last 5 years or so. Absolute garbage. This has to be a free card now.

However, Vera on Tuesday night posted a bulletin via his Twitter account, which he later deleted, stating that he had already been assigned a new opponent, the fast-rising Jon Jones, in an unannounced card on March 21 in Denver.

Additional sources said Nogueira could be headed for UFC 111 on March 27 against an opponent to be determined.

Coleman is the man. I went too his wrestling camp in our hometown long ago. Few years back I went to an mma event him and bo cantrell hosted, a fight broke out down below( i was on the 2 floor,) coleman started walking through the crowd, snatched the two guys and dragged them out. ****ing hilarious.

The UFC today officially announced a recently reported contest between welterweights Mike Swick (14-3 MMA, 9-2 UFC) and Paulo Thiago (12-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) for February's "UFC 109: Relentless" event.

Swick stepped in as a replacement for Josh Koscheck when his teammate was forced off the card with an injury.

While Koscheck and Thiago were originally scheduled in the evening's co-main event, the organization has promoted a middleweight fight between top contenders Nate Marquardt (29-8-2 MMA, 8-2 UFC) and Chael Sonnen (24-10-1 MMA, 3-3 UFC) to the co-feature slot.

I'm even thinking of taking a shot at Couture finishing the fight before time... I doubt he wants to clinch with Coleman, as his boxing is faaar superior.

Not saying his cardio will be that much better, but have to give consideration to the fact that this is his third fight since comeback/injury, so should have a little more in the tank. Couture seems to have lost a lot of his explosiveness since his year long hiatus.
