I see Bodog is advertising it all over ESPN.com. It looks like they jumped onboard the MMA train at the right time.

MMA seems much more like a skill sport now where before it was like watching a car wreck. I still have no idea who these fighters are or if Bodog landed any decent names.

    i follow mma very closely

i don't really like a gambling institution backing any kind of sporting event

it's even worse than say vince mcmahon owning a real fighting origanization

even if it's 100% legit, there is always doubt

i can't feel comfortable betting on fights bodog sponsors

Valid point. I wouldn't be surprised to see Bodog not hang lines on their fights if it comes down to it, like the Maloofs not having NBA betting in their casinos.

          that would be very smart

if done correctly there is a lot of money in mma

it has better money generating power than boxing already IMO and I do not see this reversing itself

a couple promotuons have been reckless and jumped in and ovverpayed fighters badly and gone under quickly but most insiders knew it would happen

bodog has enough money to eat a loss their first few shows in order to establish a name for themselves whereas the other promotions could not and their backers bailed

it may be just a model

Yves Edwards looks a little like that guy but Yves is usually bald so i am not sure that is him

The Bodog show on the 14th April has the No 1 Heavyweight MMA fighter on the planet ( actually in the short history of MMA) Fedor Emelianenko against a man many say is the best Middleweight ( 185 pounds) in the world and Olympic Silver medialist Matt Lindland.

On paper Fedor should steamroll Lindland but I think Lindland will make it competive before being subbed/stopped with strikes

There are rumours that Lindland is getting 700K for this fight though that has not been confirmed

So yes. These are pretty BIG names
