    Ufc 102:
    Antonio Nogueira +150
    Randy Couture -170

Antonio Nogueria (31-5-1) is coming off a one sided beat down at the hands of Frank Mir. A lot of people don't give that loss much value because Nog was in the hospital or something like that. I give it a lot of value because Nog had his eggs scrambled in the two fights prior to that as well. To quote Joe Rogan "You can only have your lights turned off so many times." In my opinion Nog's bulb is burnt out.

Randy "The Natural" Couture (16-9) is relatively close to getting his AARP card. But that isn't going to stop him just like it didn't stop Robert Redford. Huh? I mean Roy Hobbs. Huh? The Natural... duh.

Now do I mean the movie or the book? What? They made The Natural into a book? Numbskulls... they made the book into a movie. Yeah, reading... I know us UFC type aren't real keen on that. Well little known fact, Roy Hobbs strikes out and loses the last game in the book. But I hate reading so I will go with the Hollywood ending. Randy "The Natural" Couture KO's Nog in stunning fashion as the arena lights explode and shower the ring like shooting stars.
    RANDY COUTURE -170

    Thiago Silva +130
    Keith Jardine -160

Keith Jardine (14-6-1) has a two faced chin. Sometimes it fails him miserably... ok, most of the time. But then sometimes Jardine's chin eats his Wheaties and withstands the flurry of Rampage. Thiago Silva (13-1) has similar issues with his chin. But Silva has only been Ko'd once you say. And that was by The Man. Ahh but our dear friend Thiago has been rocked by the likes of... Antonio Mendes???

    Who is this?

The question in this fight is; Who gets tagged first and turns into Glass Joe from Mike Tyson's Punch Out? My guess is Thiago Silva gets exposed again as a win by Jardine sets him up to get KTFO'd by someone in his next fight.
    KEITH JARDINE -160

    Demian Maia +130
    Nate Marquardt -160

Demain Maia (11-0) is finally stepping up and playing with the big boys. And when referring to Nate Marquardt (31-8-2) as a big boy, I mean bad ass mofo. Maia has sick ground skills. But what else does he posses? Kind of a one-trick pony, isn't he?

    Demian Maia?

The other aspect that concerns me is that Maia actually said in an interview that he wants to beat his opponent without hurting them. WTF is that? I'm not paying $45 to watch two guys be friendly for 15 minutes and then hug with their shirts off after the fight. Give me violence, Nate... give me VIOLENCE.
    NATE MARQUARDT -160

    Jake Rosholt +120
    Chris Leben -150

This fight is like the red-headed step child compared to the other fights. Jake Rosholt (5-1) is coming off an embarrassingly quick submission that exposed him for lack of experience. This former D-I wrestler has little more than said wrestling. The only good thing I can say about him is that he cut his flowing locks before his last fight. Believe me, he looked liked a boner with long hair. The Crippler Chris Leben (18-5) is fresh off a mandatory vacation. Why?

    The Juice

My suggestion. Stay away from this thing. I can see Rosholt showing off his sloppy stand up and getting drilled by one of Leben's bombs and I can see Rosholt taking Leben down for a three round lay n' pray. Either way, red-headed step children are ugly.
    JAKE ROSHOLT +120

    MY PLAYS
    Randy Couture -170 (8.5 to win 5)
    Nate Marquardt -160 (5 to win 3.125)
    Todd Duffee -170 (4.25 to win 2.5)

I get it. Don't worry I always have my 'Major League' references to resort to when I'm in a corner.

Has nothing to do with the baseball reference, El Pan. Just that when I see a post by Hoff from here on out, that vision of loveliness who accompanied him to the bash will always pop into my old noggin. I heart Marquette

Willie we all love Marquette but this is serious business here. We are trying to pick some winners and Hoff and I are on complete opposite ends of the spectrum on this one.

This either means that we will both break around even, or one of us is going to have a really bad evening.

Willie get your head in the game! Man on man action in the Octagon! Alright yeah!

Ok, sorry boss, here are my picks:

              1. Randy Couture -165 vs. Antonio Nogueira +145: Tailing Hoff on this one, that's all.

              2. Keith Jardine -150 vs. Thiago Silva +130: His name rhymes with sardine, and I love sardines with spicy mustard on Saltines.

              3. Nate Marquardt -160 vs. Demian Maia +140: Marquardt is real close to Marquette, 'nuff said.

              4. Chris Leben -160 vs. Jake Rosholt +140: I knew a guy in high school named Ross Holt.

              5. Brandon Vera -185 vs. Krzysztof Soszynski +160: Gotta' go with the guy that has 80% of the letters in the alphabet.

              6. Gabriel Gonzaga -365 vs. Chris Tuchscherer +305: Zags cost me money in a March Madness game last year, rolling the dice on the dog in this one.

              7. Mike Russow -265 vs. Justin McCully +225: Heads and I lay the chalk, tails and it's the underdog. Heads it is, Russow gets my nod.

              8. Todd Duffee -145 vs. Tim Hague +125: Todd & Tim? Is this the rump ranger match of the night. Give me Tim-MAYYYYYYY!

              9. Ed Herman -135 vs. Aaron Simpson +115: Ed Hermann is one of the greatest voice-actors ever, always like to watch the documentaries he narrates, one of my favorites being Isaac's Storm which is also a wonderful book. He also was spot-on as FDR in the 1970s TV movie about President and Mrs. Roosevelt. And that's all I have to say about Ed Hermann.

              10. Mark Muñoz -200 vs. Nick Catone +170: Close the evening off with the 2:1 chalk, plus he's bound to have some Latino blood in him and that's a cool thing to have going for you.

I was very, very right on Marquardt and Duffee. And very, very wrong on Couture.
