#3Update on TBK. In the running with two other guys to fill in at UFC 220
Three Prospects To Step In And Fight Dan Ige At UFC 220
December 22, 2017 by Shawn Bitter
January 20th, 2018 in Boston, Massachusetts, US for UFC 220, the event held a Featherweight bout as Boston’s own Charles Rosa takes on Hawaii’s Dan Ige. Unfortunately, the doctors would pull Rosa out of his belt with a neck injury. The show must go on and with Dan Ige needing an opponent, so here are three possible prospects who can step up:
Julio Arce (13-2)
The Tiger Schulmann product, Arce, seems like the most logical fighter to step in as he has the most experience and has fought the toughest competition of the three. Arce only has two losses in his career but both are against UFC fighter Brian Kelleher. Arce is currently riding a five-fight win streak. So far Arce has beat solid competition, besting opponents with a total record of 72-32. He is also the current Ring of Combat featherweight champion. In August of this year, Arce fought in the very popular summer series Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series where he beat a top prospect in Peter Petties, winning by TKO in round two. Unfortunately Arce didn’t receive a contract after the win but now is very deserving of this opportunity. Arce is UFC ready and his teammate Shane Burgos also thinks so, with Burgos already competiting on the card.Pat Sabatini (8-1)
Sabatini has only one loss in his career to top lightweight prospect, Robert Watley, but Sabatini is a solid prospect as well. Sabatini does have a strong background in grappling, competing in competitions like No-Gi, and has a background in combat sambo. Sabatini is clearly dangerous on the mat with seven finishes, all coming by submission. Sabatini is the current CFFC featherweight champion who just defended it earlier this month.Mike Trizano (6-0)
Another product out of Tiger Schulmann’s Mixed Martial Arts, Trizano is a young talent that is still green but getting better each fight. Trizano may have the least professional experience out of these three, but he also went 6-0 as an amateur and is the only one of the three that is still undefeated. Trizano did take a fight for Bellator back in November of this year so he’s had a taste of the big lights. Trizano also tried out for the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter. It he still may get the call here as it’s been done with Mark De La Rosa already, after he got pulled from the tryouts and got a UFC shot on short notice. We may see that again with Trizano.Follow @MMATodayNews on Twitter and check out the rest of the MMA Today website for the latest in the world of Mixed Martial Arts.Comment -

#4Well guys TBK didn’t get the call Arce did so TBK won’t be on the ufc 220 card. He is on the radar now and hopes to get a call in two to three months. Looks like his management team is doing a good job. He is with the same management team as the current 145 Champ Max.Comment
