Rampage and Machida coaching TUF 10

UFC president Dana White announced at the UFC 98 post-fight press conference that former light heavyweight titleholder Quinton "Rampage" Jackson will get the first crack at newly crowned Lyoto "The Dragon" Machida's belt. Speculation immediately arose whether Jackson and Machida would be coaches on the next season of the Spike TV reality show "The Ultimate Fighter."

White was asked point blank at the press conference if the coaches for the tenth season of the show had been picked. White confirmed they have been chosen, but wouldn't divulge any names.

"I'm not going to tell you. We start filming on the first and there's a media day on like the second or third. All your questions will be answered then," said White.

Jackson let the cat out of the bag on his Twitter account (twitter.com/rampage4real) late Wednesday night that he was a coach on the upcoming season.

It read, "Packing my stuff to move to Vegas to coach TUF!!"

With Jackson confirming his coaching role, Machida would most likely be the opposing coach.

Jackson became the UFC light heavyweight champion by knocking out Chuck Liddell at UFC 71 in May 2007. He would defend it once against Dan Henderson before losing the title to Forrest Griffin at UFC 86 on July 5, 2008.

Lyoto Machida knocked out Rashad Evans at UFC 98 on May 23 to become the current titleholder.

          Evans - Rampage. Nice.

I can only pray for an entire season of homoerotic smack talking like wae had at the end of Rampage's last fight. YES!

I cant believe Rua is getting a title shot. Its bad enough when a guy comes in and gets a couple of wins or less, and then gets a shot at the title. But, Rua looked like shit in both of his wins and is no where near ready for any top competition in LHW. I do want to see this fight but maybe after a couple more fights when Rua is ready, but I don't know if Rua will ever get his speed back, which was his number 1 weapon pride.(and of course soccer kicks ha)

I'd still rather see Shogun vs Cane for now

whats odd about this too is if Rashad beats Rampage after there TUF season then would gets winner of Machida/ShouGun. Machida will most likely win then do you do a Evans rematch, you can't give it to Rampage after a loss.

                I have it figured out:

Evans fights Rampage. If Rampage wins he gets a title shot. If Evans wins then he would take on the winner of Cane vs the loser of Machida/Shogun. Now if Shogun beats Machida, then Liddell would come out of semi-retirement to fight Tito Ortiz who would sign with the UFC again. Assuming Liddell could beat Tito again, he would be catapulted into a top contender match with Rampage, but only if Rampage loses to Evans. Then that winner would have to fight Machida for the true number one contender spot. Now all this time has left the belt holder with out a fight, so obviously Keith Jardine would get a title shot because he has name recognition and could maybe get some pay-per-view buys. Unless at the time Evans has the belt because then Jardine won't fight him. If that is the case, then Anderson Silva would get a title shot. But that's only if he beats Forrest. If he loses to Forrest then he has to go back to the middleweight division in shame and Tito Ortiz becomes champion by default. Then Forrest would have to fight the Bisping/Hendo winner. But they're at 185 you say... well they would come back to 205 for a guarenteed title shot if they beat Forrest. Now here is where it gets tricky. Cane is fighting the Machida/Shogun loser. If he beats one of those two, then he has to race Anderson Silva in one of those carry the egg on a spoon races 10 times around the octagon with out dropping the egg. Assuming Cane doesn't drop his egg, he would then get a title shot. Once all this is settled, Couture will drop back to 205 for his last title shot ever, and then retire... again. But only if Franklin loses to Wandy.
