Man, I use to throw a big party whenever there was a big boxing or UFC bout but there has been so many clunkers that you never know what you're going to get. The interest level in fighting has really gone in the shitter. Pretty damn sad. I would have a huge BBQ spread and a crowd watching it on the big screen. Not anymore. I can't even get my wife and kids to turn off Netflix for an hour to watch. Plus the fights end too damn late at night. It's 1am on the East Coast, most people are hitting the clubs not watching a pillow fight.

They were talking on Rogan's podcast about how the ground game disappeared once people started greasing. You can apply vasoline or whatever pre-fight, or you can take a bath with baby oil in it and it comes out your pores when you sweat. All to prevent submissions.

If they can somehow do away with that, it will be better for the UFC. Good ground action, and the threat of that will open the standing game up more.

Agreed.. I gave round 1 to Vannata only.. Vannata was the aggressor but probably not enough to win rounds 2 and 3 IMO.. Tough fight to judge but probably the right call.

I had it 29-28 Teymur as did most others. Was hoping to live bet him after R1 in the (+500) range but didn't get the chance. He was a measly (+130) and I thought he lost R1.

Thompson DID NOT easily win 3 rounds. Those 3 rounds were the most lackluster, zero action rounds I think I've ever seen in the ring. Yes, I think he barely won those rounds but neither one of them was doing much. He threw like 3 punches to Woodley's 2. Come on, that's horseshit. Those rounds were a draw to me. Woodley took 2 rounds clearly and the last round was a 10-8 and could have been an early stoppage from that one punch. That was enough for Woodley to win IMO, although I would have called it a draw for them both being asshats.

I get that the main event sucked and Khabib/Ferg got cancelled but there were some GREAT fights on this card. Comebacks in Alcantara/Sanders and Elkins/Bektic, some great finishes in Calvillo/Cooper and Overeem/Hunt, and a classic striking battle in Teymur/Vannata. All good stuff imo.
