After he won the fight tonight... he claims he lost 18 lbs in less than 24 hours? WTF?
How the hell do you lose 18 lbs in less than 24 hours?

Not really unusual. Lot of fighters cut a ton of weight like that. A gallon of sweat probably weighs close to 9 pounds.
Definitely not healthy though.

He gassed in the third pretty bad. Not sure he'll make it at 155

Burkman always faded late, even when he fought at 170.
People normally will cut near 5 pounds during a normal day at work. If you weigh yourself before you go to work, don't eat or drink anything and come home, you'll notice you weigh less. The weight loss comes from water weight evaporating through your skin.
The 18 pound weight cut comes from evaporating/perspiring greater amounts of water in a shorter period of time. There are a number of different techniques people use to make it safer and easier. A lot of MMA fighters cut 5-10 pounds during weigh ins. It used to be more common to do what Burkman did and cut 20 pounds near weigh ins. But these days, that's more of an old school thing. Most have their diets dailed in well enough that they usually don't have to cut that much weight.
In a way, Burkman is living in the stone ages with the big weight cut. KJ Noons is close to the same size as Burkman and he probably only cut 10 pounds or so by having a better diet.

It's all water. Just dehydrated him self to shit. He should be at 170 for sure, looked terrible at 155.
