Former UFC champ goes ballistic on Conor McGregor: Dumb f---er should have went to sleep!

I haven't heard Matt Serra this fired up since the time he declared war on all things French.
The former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight champion went "ballistic" when Nate Diaz -- friend and extended family of "The Terror" -- submitted Conor McGregor at the UFC 196 pay-per-view (PPV) event earlier this month in Las Vegas, Nevada (replay here).

Here's why, according to his conversation with Stephie Haynes:

"Not being a rooster, but look at Conor. All the shit you talked, take a nap, man. It's not like your arm was about to break. I understand you want your career and if it was a kneebar, you'll be out for six months, but dude, if worst comes to worst, you'll think you're in your bedroom. That's it. You'll wake up like, ‘WTF,' but everything will be alright. I was so penetrating happy seeing Nate win. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Conor McGregor, but the shit where he went in on Nate about teaching the kids jiu-jitsu, now look, it's one thing to be witty and this and that, but now you're writing some shit, trying to be clever...you know what? You start crossing lines and your karma is not good, either. You start making fun of the guys teaching jiu-jitsu classes...he could be out in the hood doing dirty shit, but he's in there teaching kids martial arts, you dumb rooster_eater. How dare you. That's penetrating stupid. You want to make your money, make your money, but that's stupid. That annoyed me, and I love the Diaz brothers, so when he (Nate Diaz) penetrating lit him up, when he started landing, [laughs] I was going nuts. My oldest child does an impersonation of me: I was going ballistic at my in-laws. I was going nuts."

McGregor was relentless with his pre-fight trash talk (sample it here).
Unfortunately, he was unable to back it up on fight night, but to his credit, "Notorious" took it on the chin and did not run from his high-profile loss. Instead, the Dubliner insisted he will come back "with a vengeance" when he returns at UFC 200 to defend his featherweight title.
How much trash is talked in the wake of his loss, remains to be seen.

I dont think people understand what McGregor was saying when he said that. He wasnt mocking teaching kids jiujitsu directly, he was mocking the fact that the Diaz bros act like they are gangsters yet at the same time are doing things that gansters dont do like going on bikerides and teaching kids BJJ! He was highlighting the comedy of that facade

hall vs silva could be a sweet matchup. Hall would have to be a serious fool to not put the heat on silva after his last showing and that should cause silva, for better or worse, to fight the way we want to see. But, they also could just dance around 15 mins. I'm optimistic on this one though.

I think you take Barao in this one and just hope he's not washed up after getting handled twice by TJ Dill.. Lil Heathen is always game in fights and will test Barao for sure and probably for all 3 rounds..

Barao should feel better not having to cut extra 10lbs. Remember he dropped out for weight cutting issues before. I think he will rebound.

Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz rematch in the works for UFC 200

It appears as though UFC 200 is on the verge of getting its main event. The UFC is close to finalizing a non-title welterweight rematch between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz for the July 9 card, MMAFighting.com has learned from multiple sources. If all goes as planned, the promotion is hoping to announce the fight shortly.Earlier this month, Diaz defeated McGregor via second-round rear-naked choke in the main event of UFC 196. The fight, which was put together on just 11 days notice after McGregor's original opponent Rafael dos Anjos withdrew due to a foot injury, was a smashing business success for the UFC. It easily eclipsed one million pay-per-view buys and was the third-highest gate in the organization's history. The loss marked McGregor's first in eight UFC fights, dropping his professional record to 19-3. Diaz, a nine-year veteran of the UFC, is now 19-10 and, most importantly, more popular than ever as a result of the win over McGregor on March 5.And while the likes of Frankie Edgar and Jose Aldo have been campaigning to fight McGregor in July, the plan right now is for the Irishman to fight Diaz again after all.
Already reported for UFC 200, which will take place at the new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, are Cain Velasquez vs. Travis Browne and Gegard Mousasi vs. Derek Brunson.

Nate with a full camp is going to wreck him again.

This is a bullshit fight. Conor should be defending his title against Edgar.

I don't see how Diaz and Conor even warrant a rematch. My guess is that the only reason they are making this fight is that Dana White is praying that Conor can redeem himself and regain his dominance.

And why at 170 again? Why not 155?

It doesn't make bussiness sense, they should be profiting off diaz success by putting him in a fight with robbie, that would sell, and making mcgregor defend his title. McGregor brings in the money though, so he calls the shots for the ufc brass. McGregor likely never goes back down to 145, and he probable pushes his weight around and gets himself a 155 or 170 title shot if he beats diaz.

It just doesn't seem very fair to the other guys in the 145 division to have to sit and wait. IMO, if he is going to move up in weight to fight again, they should take the 145 pound title from him and let Frankie and Aldo fight for it.

wow, that is not what I expected either. Hard to tell what their logic here is, it could be they know 200 is going to be big no matter what and conor assures that so if his belt is not on the line it won't matter. That way win or loss there is still a big event to make for his belt after

or maybe conor just wants back at diaz, the reality is he was beating the hell out of him until he gassed.

No doubt Conor was winning the fight and had Diaz cut and bleeding, but let's not kid ourselves here. Conor was getting tagged pretty often himself. These shots he was taking also contributed to his fading.

Agree, no one is shouting rematch, if anything it was a complete mismatch over two rounds, with conor having a full training camp. Nate Diaz is fakkin fantastic at drawing people into his own game, fight is ending exactly the same just a couple of rounds longer. Huge bjj skille disparity also.

And what the hell was this weight lifting kenny florian talked about that conor supposedly did a couple of days before the fight. From his understanding Conor where seen doing some pretty hefty weight lifting sessions just days before the fight. After seeing how he gassed, primarily after getting hit yes, but likely also because of bad cardio. We all remember Neil magny, good cardio = good chin.

What is funny we all thought the only way to be McGregor was on the ground, that wasn't the case with Nate Diaz, Nate really beat McGregor standing first with his solid chin, great cardio, toughness and length, but most of all with his better better boxing and high volume punch output..

Both Diaz brothers have that advantage over Conor and that's not gonna change.... McGregor has found his Kriptonite, he really needs to avoid those guys!!! Just like Rhonda Rousey needs to avoid Holy Holms..
