Whatta circus , Aldo did not suffer a broken rib
In light of recent reports regarding the status of UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo, UFC has received official medical confirmation from several doctors that Aldo did not suffer a broken rib. Following a review of the scans, it has been determined that the champion suffered a bone bruise to his rib and cartilage injury during training.

With this news, Aldo has expressed that he has every intention of facing Conor McGregor at UFC 189.

While Aldo has indicated that he will compete in Las Vegas on July 11, UFC has confirmed a contingency plan. No.1 featherweight contender Chad Mendes will face McGregor for the interim UFC featherweight championship in the event Aldo cannot compete.

    Good.

Depending on how bad the rib cartilage damage is, it can take awhile to heal.

its good the fight could possibly happen but now Aldo has an excuse if he loses, I wish this fight could have happened with both at 100%

Yes, I was thinking the same thing. If Aldo isn't 100%, he shouldn't fight.

Aldo's camp should have NEVER let this info get leaked out in the first place.

Maybe Aldo's camp is playing mind games with McGregor's as well. Glad to hear a contingency plan is in place with Mendes. Aldo could try to screw McGregor over by opting out at the very last minute which I'm starting to think is the case. I doubt he will want to risk losing his title not being completely healthy. Losing to him would be too much to bear.

Since Aldo is the champ and seeing McGregor's camp is already set in Vegas, he will probably postpone and make the challenger come down to South America on a future date where he'll have the home town advantage and his fans can troll him back. JMO.

Aldo is probably injured, but Dana spent way to much promoting this fight so he'll pay him to fight injured and give him a rematch if he loses where he'll make even more

Lol... What a joke....... Still on Aldo.. Wonder what this will do to the odds now?

No broken rib bone take a cortizone shot, a pain killer and get in there and fight like a man... Probably won't even be an issue 2 weeks from now..
