Jibs, appreciate all your posting in these event threads...and generally agree with your takes...

but can't see how in hell u could actually back Kelly...after that "battle of the two blobs of plastecine" epic in his last fight...worst UFC "fight" in modern history...i expect Alvey to do his usual Alvey (sleep then strike) thing but doubt if Kelly takes advantage of the opportunity to unload first...he was amazingly uninterested in taking the fight to the ground in that last snooze-fest but he's a dreadfully-slow and unskilfull banger...i think Alvey hits a hell of a lot harder than that fatty he spent 15 minutes with his last fight..and if Kelly ain't smart enough to try take fight to the ground he'll end up counting the light fixtures...

you know i'm always looking for an excuse to put a splash on any dog with the hint of a pulse...but Kelly to me seems like a pure "donation" to the books...if he showed even minimal interest in using his elite judo skills i'd feel different but he seems to think he's a "standup guy" cuz of all the tomato cans he'd faced up to now...

we see tho....

brooks, u like JJ...first female i'd say has REAL banging-power...anaemic-looking skinny little thing but with perfect striking technique...picture her cleaning out her division...in a string of replays of what she did to poor Esparza...a different level of power for the women's game

the next 6 dogs are all live...expect at least 3 of the 6 to hit...

got a full "round robin" set of 15 2-leg parlays, and also a full set of 20 3-leggers...35 tiny little stakes which will break even if 3 of the dogs hit, and pay out with escalating levels of wonderfulness if more than that...

the remaining 6 dogs (of which i expect at least 3 to hit...most confident in Vick and O'Connell who i think should be favorites...Vick the "value" steal on the card, imo)

hope Webb gets a fair shake from the judges...that they don't hit the auto "10-9 for our guy" for any close rounds...cuz this is a very interesting stylistically, and very even execution-wise contest

it's the +170 price that makes it such a value...i'd actually cap Vick a slight fave only...the edge as a straight-up pick comes largely from the big physical (range) advantage he'll enjoy, standing of course but also how it aids him on the ground...there's stuff he does that he can do purely because of his ridiculously long arms relative to his opo's...he's a very well-rounded fighter MMArtist for such a tall guy that could just rely on his reach, but instead embraces the whole game...as evidenced by his 3 subs out of his 7 victories

when you can get someone you think deserves the minus sign at +170 its a go

not as bad as some of Cote's auto-wins in Canada, nor that stinker in Boston for the Irishman, nor Diego's gifts in Albuqurque mind you...but "affirmative action" nonetheless
