Can the fight be postponed because of Pacquiao's worsening health condition?

I heard a couple of days ago that Pacquiao had been dealing with a serious calf injury, using cream that's worth $1800 per bottle to ease the pain and as of now he is not able to run properly. Someone told me a fight can be postponed for up to several months in cases like this. Is it what happens typically?
