Pathetic crowd. Dude poured his heart and soul inside the octagon for 15 minutes to get booed. Masvidal coasted the last round and a half because of the dominant first round. I think the judges got the call correct here.

I gave al the 3rd, 1st and 2nd to Masvidal, but the 2nd was close. I'm glad al got it, but I woulda scored 1st and 2nd Masvidal.

I didn't say it was a robbery. But I certainly don't think Al deserved that win. I felt he needed a KO or sub to win in round 3.

Need to change this judging system. How can a clear round like round 1 be rated the same as close rounds like 2 and 3 where the judges are leaning one way or another?

Easy system 3 points clear cut rounds, 5 points for super dominant rounds and 1 point for those close rounds.
Judges see this fight Masvidal 3-2, Masvidal 3-2 and Masvidal 4-1

Judging system needs to reflect the fight as a whole more, yes rounds 2 and 3 were tight but nobody can say Al won the fight as a whole. That is a problem, these are 3 round fights. This is not boxing.

They need to award damage....those leg kicks were USELESS....did they land yes...they will hurt him tomorrow but as far as winning that fight lol no....he ate those kicks bc it was a 3 rounder and he could...not really a threat at ALL just points for IDIOT judges to award bc they don't know shit...

I know I was on Iaquinta but, yes it was obvious Masvidal clearly won round one without a doubt. Was it enough to warrant a 10-8? No.

Onto the second round, it was the closest of the three and it could've gone either way, making a case for both fighters. The was the most difficult round to judge.

Then the third, Masvidal seemed very content to coast and play it safe from second and evidently in the third round. He felt the damage he inflicted in the first was enough to get ahead but he only scored 10-9 in the first. Iaquinta was hurt but he was not in danger of being finished.

If anything, Masvidal was lucky this wasn't a 5 rounder because either his leg was going to give out or Big Al was going to take him out.

Wasn't a robbery at all, a split was the correct call.

^^ When first looking over this event I was on Masvidal all day long as I thought his striking and length would be the difference maker in this match up.. When Masdival was struggling with weight I went completely the other direction and bet on Al reluctantly...

As the fight unfolded I saw Masvidal completely out striking Al in the first 2 rounds.. Heck he almost put him away late in the first round as he lit hit him up.... 3rd round Al pressed forward and with punching and kicking volume and I could perhaps see the judges giving him that round.. I would have still gave that 3rd to Masvidal.. I saw the fight 30-27 Masvidal like the one judge did on the official scoring cards..

I'm glad I won my bet with Al but that was a robbery for sure...

Both ran out of the ring, neither happy... Al should have kissed the octagon floor and should now send gift baskets to those 2 refs that scored it 29-28 in his favor.....

My final thoughts on the fight anyways.....
