I don't like these other alt-coins. It seems to me that if bitcoin doesn't succeed anything else in this generation is going to be viewed the same way, even if it is the Beta to Bitcoin's VHS.

I still have faith in BTC, just think the market is still wonky from it suddenly going from 99% hold to 90% hold.

Well bitcoin is a POW coin and chinese pools already have 25 percent of hash power. Probably can get 51 percent if they got together for the 51 percent attack.

Peercoin is a POS coin. More secure with nubits coming out which is a distributed exchange so Mt Gox doesnt happen again.

Well bitcoin is a POW coin and chinese pools already have 25 percent of hash power. Probably can get 51 percent if they got together for the 51 percent attack.

That's sort of my point though, a lot of these new coins are addressing issues that BTC hasn't. The average man on the street has no idea that there is more than 1 e-coin out there. BTC doesn't become stable until its easy to use for the everyman. The entire price is built on potential.

I mean, everyone who owns bitcoin understands some level of cryptography and the underlying workings of the system, whereas your average DC holder has no idea how the banking system works. Hell 99% of adults think the banks make their profit by the difference between interest received on loans and interest paid on deposits.

Crypto right now is just for making a quick buck trading. These alt coins are a gold mine for that. Just track Dark Coin's price or Litecoin's. So much volatility it's a traders wet dream. Especially since micro transactions cost virtually zero and it is so easy going from one crypto to another.

If you can time the market though. Where is your edge derived from? It's like all these guys who claim to be getting rich off binary options by guessing whether its going to go up or down.
