I agree to a certain extent. Certainly from watching his specials and sets on youtube or wherever he doesnt seem very funny at all. But i went to one of his live shows with Duncan Trussel supporting before a ufc event and it was surprisingly good, although the funny bits were mostly ad-libbed stuff and audience interaction. So ye a lot of his actual material isnt very funny. My buddy who came who hardly knew who rogan was and not really a ufc fan or anything even said it wasnt bad and had some laughs. But then were were very drunk! We had some good banter with trussel after as well

Trussel is great. i have only seen online stuff but can't imagine its worth seeing live. i saw a clip the other day of an old JRE ep with Duncan, it was great. reminded me of what the podcast used to be like, couple of guys talking shit and being funny. now every podcast is like a super serious interview. where Rogan is trying not to cause offense. also correcting the guest every 5 seconds, that shit is grating. needs Trussel back on asap.

Last night started terrible and ended fantastic for me. Was still a losing night though, put myself in too deep of a hole early.

Fading Caceres was the bet of the night. That line was a head scratcher.

Jury/Tate/Lim/Horiguchi was the parlay that payed here.

Not a big hicks fan myself; just thought Rogan would be similar due to the whole libertarian angle.

Carlin just did it better, Hicks was kind of a discount knock off in my mind. Very preachy but he has excellent points on most of the issues he touches on.

Carlin? No, his last show was terrific, as edgy as ever, he looked old for the first time, his posture was quite poor, but he was terrific. I believe it was two days before his death IIRC, I've got the tickets laying around here somewhere, it was at the Orleans in Vegas.
