Danny Castillo vs. Tony Ferguson Set For UFC 176




UFC officials announced another fight for the UFC 176 event. Lightweights, Danny Castillo and Tony Ferguson will meet in the octagon. It’s not yet known if the fight will take place on the preliminary card or main card.
Castillo has won 6 of his last 8 fights and is coming off of possibly his most impressive performance. At UFC 172 Castillo knocked out Charlie Brenneman when he connected with a huge punch.
Ferguson is The Ultimate Fighter 11 winner and is also coming off of a win. Ferguson ko’d Katsunori Kikuno in the first round of their UFC 173 fight.
Both fighters will be looking to keep their momentum going and with a win here, it could push them into the top-level of lightweight fighters and one step closer to a title shot.
UFC 176 takes place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California on Aug. 2. You can catch the prelims on UFC Fight Pass and FOX Sports 1, but will have to switch to Pay Per View for the main card.

I think they're just using that fight to get people to watch the prelims. They do a prelim "main event" now. Brimage vs. Doane doesn't belong on any PPV main card, though.
