UFC middleweight champ Chris Weidman on Tuesday underwent surgery to repair both of his knees, clearing the way for his title defense in July against Lyoto Machida. Although Weidman gave a thumbs-up and said the procedure was a success, there’s one middleweight who thinks he might be jumping back into the cage too early.
“There’s no way he’s ready by July,” Tim Kennedy told MMAjunkie. “No way.”
Kennedy (17-4 MMA, 2-0 UFC), who later this month headlines the TUF Nations Finale opposite Michael Bisping (24-5 MMA, 14-5 UFC), thinks it’s probably a combination of promotional pressure and the champ’s overzealousness that led him to agree to a July fight.

Despite his assessment of Weidman’s timetable, Kennedy is still picking the champ to retain his belt. He said Weidman, among other things, hits harder than Machida’s previous opponent, Gegard Mousasi, who was outpointed by the ex-champ this past February.
Kennedy also believes Weidman is superior on the mat.
“The takedowns and scrambles that happened in [Gegard Mousasi vs. Machida] that were close, Weidman’s on a completely different level as a grappler and a wrestler,” Kennedy said. “So, I’m going to have to give the nod to Weidman.”

i saw her on Arseno last night and she looked huge. Every part of her body looked bigger than Arsenios. If Arsenio is a buck 30 then she is okay. If he is in the 170 range no way in hell she can make 135. She had all kinds of problems at making 145. Maybe Dana can make it a catch weight for Rousey because this should be a cake walk if Carano doesn't take a couple of warm up fights. NOw Cyborg. She will have to make 135. To dangerous.Comment -

She will most likely get destroyed by anyone in the top 5.. we don't live in a fairytale land where some chick who does movies for years and gains weight is suddenly gonna make a come back and beat trained killers who have been fighting/ in the gym everyday. and i'm a carano fan. its gonna be interesting. if they give her a title shot with rousey right off the bat its gonna be more ridiculous then cummings vs cormier.

Prolly one of my biggest wins (money wise) in mma history when GSP fought Shields. Your boy Rogan was all in on the hype train nonsense. "most dangerous guy GSP has ever faced" This was such and easy pick and it was so one sided until GSP poked Shields in the finger with his eye. Shields was getting thrown around just like he was against LOmbard. The eye poke and i believe there was more than one, gave him a very slight chance. Then after the fight Shields acts like he punched GSP in the face Completely forgetting the eyepokes GSP was landing on him consistently

Can't continue to pay a guy main card money when he isn't a draw anymore. 4-3 record isn't horrible, but 3 of those wins were split decisions.
I think him showing a blatant lack of urgency in the last fight really did him in. You're obviously down 2 rounds and you don't even try in the 3rd round?Comment -
