To be fair, Chandler was on top doing nothing, at all, and Alvarez was even out-landing him from bottom. He also came close to finishing him, what, four times? And did damage, too? Pretty good argument for a 10-8 I think.

Curran just got overwhelmed by Straus size. I figured it'd be a factor early on then Straus would fade after 2-3 rnds. I think Straus could thrive in the ufc. I can't think of anyone in the ufc who compares size wise. Maybe Oliveira but he's a twig.

They're building their entire brand around Chandler, the guy is huge; they're banking on him because he's the best talent they have (maybe the best talent at 155, period), and because he's a very likeable guy whom the fans connect with. He's also exciting; he's obviously the future of Bellator, win or lose in the final Alvarez fight.

I don't agree with that line of thinking. It's just common sense to put two established guys as the main event of your first pay-per-view, because their names attract more casual fans than a guy like Chandler's. The hardcore fans will tune in to see Chandler already (don't forget, also, to take into account the backlash Bellator received for having Tito/Rampage as the main event in the first place), and the fans who buy the pay-per-view to see Rampage/Tito will, hopefully, see Chandler and Alvarez and think "these guys are great" and buy more pay-per-views in the future. Neither Tito or Rampage has a future in MMA long-term, I don't think that anyone at Bellator is under the impression that they'll be able to build their brand around them.
