They offered some clarification on the Vegh situation. Vegh was "back in training" and was basically standing by as a "just in case" with two light heavyweight fights on the card. But they were thinking more in terms of if Mo or Newton got hurt.
i thought mo vs. newton was for the interim belt, and isnt vegh the champion?? the champion is standing by just in case there was an injury preventing the fight for the interim belt?

That wasn’t even the tip of the iceberg, no pun intended, for the group then found themselves rolling approximately 3 to 4 times before coming to a halt with their tires (presumably the front) treading in the icy waters of Þjórsá, Iceland’s longest river. Halli Nelson, the father and manager of the promising welterweight, attests to the danger of the river.
“It’s a glacier river with very hard current. If the car had gone one meter further into the river, it would have hit deep water and the current would have taken it.”
Nelson goes on to say that had the truck gone off-road just shortly before or after when it did, the said threat of the river would have become a reality as the truck would have most likely gone completely into the water. The cause of the crash has not been clarified or disclosed, but considering the frigid climate, icy roads would seem to fit the bill. All passengers of the vehicle walked away from the incident relatively fine, save for the given scrapes and scratches that are expected with a crash. With an absence from the octagon stemming back to February, some would worry that this close call could extend the welterweight’s return to action (action that has shown him besting both DaMarques Johnson and Jorge Santiago in his last two outings). Though Gunnar unfortunately had to receive around 10/11 stitches in his arm, his father insists that he will heal soon and expects to see him back to work in the gym without too much delay.
