Johnny Hendricks will beat GSP

Even tho GSP fights for "legacy" it feels like it could be Hendrick's time. Hendricks is younger, stronger, and faster. Plus GSP's legacy is already cemented, he is one of the greatest of all time. But his last couple fights even tho he performed very well he has been slowing down a bit..... Every Kings Reign Has Its End.

I definitely think Hendricks is GSP's biggest threat. He will nullify most of his takedown attempts and force GSP to stand with him. And we all know that Hendricks has the power to KO anyone. Hendricks will have to KO GSP in the first 2 rounds. GSP's advantage will grow stronger as Hendricks gets more tired in the 3rd, 4th and 5th.

GSP is starting to get banged up pretty bad in his fights, his face is starting to bruise up bad. Hendricks will probably be worth a bet. I do still think Hendricks lost vs Condit got the take downs but done nothing, no way he should of got a UD. A lil bit bitter, would of won nice had he lost but looking at it straight I still think he lost. He will give GSP more problems than Diaz did.

lol you cant count the Koscheck fight.... the fans were allowed to pick the FOTN and so all the GSP fanboy picked tht fight just because it was main event and he is most well known. After that Dana said he'd never let fans picks again!

LOL. GSP was able to do absolutely nothing with Diaz. He barely landed any ground and pound and never had a serious submission attempt. He won the ground exchanges by staying on top. That's purely it.

So did I. The only reason I didn't put everything I had on 5D on GSP by UD was because he might have been able to win via cuts. GSP honestly looked very much past his prime in that fight. I hate to say it, but I really don't think he's the same fighter he was two years ago. His takedowns lacked explosiveness, he looked mentally vulnerable, and he frankly looked brittle. When Nick Diaz stuffs literally half your takedowns, which he did according to Fightmetric, it's time to re-evaluate your life. For GSP, I honestly think it's time to retire.

^ He won't. Hendricks is a very talented guy physically, but his learning potential isn't the highest. GSP will jab him to death and lay on him for 25 minutes, or Hendricks will get a spectacular knockout in the first two rounds. There are pretty much no other outcomes.

I wish... johnnys boxing is pretty much just that left but I think he can improve and possibly counter a gsp jab. stuff some takedowns and make it close. but I cant stand gsp. his fights r boring as penetrate. he didn't want 2 try and get the hooks in and takes nicks back or even try 2 pass his guard it seemd like he just wanted 2 control him and win. as usual

GSP's double leg was stuffed almost half of the time by Diaz, so there's a decent chance it stays standing for at least a few minutes.

I basically have a rule stating that I won't bet against Anderson, GSP, or Bones no matter the odds until they lose. And GSP should still be a sizeable favorite, but I feel Hendricks has a better chance than anyone. I think GSP can still take him down at times because of timing, but I think Hendricks can stuff a fair share. On the feet Hendricks has no reach, but he finds the others chin. Condit is a long and rangy fighter, yet he found his chin early and often. Shots that would probably drop GSP.

I feel GSP will play the leg kick game and distance game. Setting up TDs when Hendricks comes forward too much. He will probably try and tire Hendricks a bit before really doing much. But yea,Hendricks may be a top 3 wrestler at that weight. Him and Kos were basically the same. And his power is undeniable. I question his reach and how that all works, but like Hendo, he finds your face with his fist one way or another.

I probably won't bet this fight. But I am excited thinking Hendricks has at least a decent chance off pulling it off. I'm a huge Diaz fan, but unless GSP fought dumb and angry he had little shot of doing too much. GSP played ultra conservative.

He doesn't get finished, he just acts out like a petulant child when people refuse to stand directly in front of him and box.

Oh and I recall GSP winning the standup battle by jabbing Nick directly in the face and avoiding every jiu jitsu switch and attempted reversal on the ground.

Avoiding the switch or an attempted reversal doesnt mean GSP "clowned him"! Clowning with BJJ is what Damian Maia does to guys like Rick Story

It's not just that he stuffed the takedowns, it's that GSP looked like absolute shit. Diaz stuffed 7 of 16 takedowns. Nick Diaz stuffed seven of GSP's takedowns. GSP also looked as frail as an old woman.

Maia vs GSP is now a very interesting fight.

This is largely correct, by round three he was looking tired, and I have never seen him look tired before, I was actually shocked. I'm not sure what the reason was, perhaps two close fights back to back? Maybe he just didn't take Nick seriously and neglected his training, I'm unsure. He looked excellent in November, but this performance was lackluster, you could tell his heart was not into it.

Hendricks is gonna need a GSP on the decline because you could make an argument he lost to Condit, Koscheck, Pierce, even TJ Grant point deduction saved him in that fight, in addition to his loss to Rick Story.
