Mir has the ability to sub out anyone, so you can never count him out completely. That being said, Barnett went five long and hard rounds against DC, I just see him out working and out pacing mir on the feet in dominant fashion, especially after mir gasses 3 minutes into rd 1. Even if it goes to the ground, barnett can hold his own. -230 is a ridiculously good price.

ha no. I was waiting for him to get nearer +300 as everybody seems to be writing him off. Now gone back down to +180 or something now Hopefully be back at +250 to +275 range by fight time. Agree with what you said, for me Barnett doesnt have the striking to trouble Mir like previous opponents who have beaten Mir had

If you don't know much about Barnett, you probably shouldn't pay -230 on a heavyweight fight.

That said, I do think Barnett should win pretty easily here. Watch some of his recent fights and see what you think.

While it's not about making silly lists from arbitrary years picked, if you look at the same timeframe with Murrr it's not exactly a glorious list of impressive wins either. I don't know, even in the DC loss I think Barnett looked better than Mir has in a decade.

Mir can outstrike barnett. Barnett has a shot at outwrestling mir. I wouldnt be shocked if barnett wasnt scared to sit in Mirs guard and maintain top position. Barnett is a talented grappler in his own right.

The reason I mentioned "pre-2007" was in connection with the statement that barnetts reputation as a top hw comes from his pride days. That's all.

i think you are overlooking the fact that mir's fought the better competition, by far, in the last few years. thats an important consideration in itself. as far as wins, say what you will about "how they came into effect". i agree some of the wins could be considered "fluky". but how do you even compare wins against brock, kongo, mirko, big nog x2, fat roy, to sergei kharitonov and brett rogers?

He looked legitimately awful in the Cormier fight. Barnett isnt as good of a wrestler as Cormier, but if it was that easy for Cormier to press him against the fence, I believe Barnett wont have much trouble either. He will dictate where the fight goes without much problem. Mir has slow striking and a deteriorating chin (Not as bad as it's been made out to be though).

As for straight bets, small on edgar itd +145, large on kennedy -120, moderate weidman itd +390, large on barnett -230.

Waiting to see if can get a good line on edgar -3.5.

Also a new 4 teamer with mighty mouse, machida, aldo and jones. Pays evens, I think its a great price.

Same here man, edgar straight up is the anchor for everything for me right now. I'm small on edgar by decision and I'm also waiting on the point spread to cover my decision bet.

Diverging with you slightly, I'm on edgar itd +145 but only small. My concern with the point spread is that given the line movement on edgar, it may actually be for a worse price than I was able to get for edgar when I bet him initially, but fingers crossed.
