Or do you just look at stats and make your judgement from there?

You must already know quite abit about BOTH fighters. Training camp, training partners, past/current Injurys. Find out everything you can about everything.
Then you gotta know what style of fighting each fighter fights and how their style of fighting has evolved over their past few fights. (If you don't watch alot of MMA this will be difficult to do)
Keep an eye on both fighters. Watch their twitter, search for audio/video interview. Figure out how they are approaching the fight, physically and mentally.
Watch video. Watch fights from around the same time of each fighter, have em both up on your screen at the same time. Watch how they move and how to react to their opponents attack/gameplan. Continue doing this from the past to the present, with both of the fighters you are trying to pick between. (This is the most important advantage you can get)
Figure out what Lines have value, when they initially are released.
Pick winnerz.

I pick winners, for the most part, as opposed to picking losers. Its a good system.
Rooster analysis is important.

one of my favorite techniques is to play their highlight videos side by side
that way I can compare their speed and technique
Type 2 keywords and click on the 'Fight !' button. The winner is the one which gets best visibility on Google.
Punch the fighters' names in and put your entire bankroll on the better result.

I wish this were true....here in the MMA section there's definitely more love in the forum, but the negative energy even leaks in here from time to time. Remember if you don't agree with Gabe, jesuseatsnoobs, or my old aliases, you're a "tuf noob" who should be jerking off to Forrest vs Bonnar highlights.

wow I never thought of that...excellent advice! this will definitely help me get a feel for how their "rhythm," timing, and speed will look side by side.
