#73Horrid main event. Only reason it was top billing was because of the title. Definitely not doing Invicta any favors.Comment -

#74Wow. I didn't actually think you could bet on this. I should have checked this thread. I was teammates with Pennigton and Smith at Kongo Do about two years ago. Smith is way more versitle. She was Thailand for awhile winning a bunch of Muay Thai fights and she competes in countless BJJ tournaments. She even got my big ass in an Americana shortly after I got back from Iraq.
I haven't seen either girl in over a year, but I couldn't imagine Rocky winning that one. I figured Smith would have got the Sub. Oh well.
Also... LMAO at the guy who said Smith was Garbage.Comment -

#76Originally posted by PunisherINDwow that entire fight was a highlight reel. this chick threw everything you can imagine. head kicks, flying knees, front face kicks, up elbows, side elbows. other chick showed heart, but im surprised her corner didnt throw in the towel or the ref didnt stop it. terrible match making right there. i think mark hominick is trying to come out of this chicks forehead.Comment -

Leslie has actually been dominating in Muay Thai for the past few years and has a solid BJJ game.Comment -

#81Umm... I watched both of her fights with Julie Kedzie. Her striking looked utterly atrocious. As I explained earier in this thread, she made Matt Riddle look like Muhammad Ali. She throws her straight punches with her elbows flared out like an amateur on their first day.
The fact that she is able to win fights (at pretty much the highest level of WMMA) is a testament to how terrible the talent pool is.Comment -

Tim Boetsch -105 (3 Units)
Joe Lauzon +185 (2 units)
Junio Dos Santos -200 ( 2 units)
Remember, thats to win 2 units on favorites such as Dos Santos (We are risking 4 units to win 2) and risking units on underdogs (We are risking 2 units on Lauzon to win 3.7 units)

Whats the deal, if you train why the fock are you so fat? Have you suffered some type of injury that has prevented you from not only entering a gym, but even performing simple exercises like walking for the last 2 years?
Fitness should be the one thing that everybody gets out of training combat sports. That means less Americanas and more road work. But the coaches at your gym will never tell you that because they are just jerking you off for your money and they know if they make you actually lose weight you wont come back.
She even got my big ass in an Americana shortly after I got back from Iraq.
intense combat sports training + grueling basic training = fat guy from penn and teller

#88finally got around to watching the main card... will try to watch the prelims later...
calderwood is a penetrating animal. i said it after her last fight and i'll say it again -- best striker in WMMA period. she's better than most guys FFS.
gomes/yamanaka was a garbage fight. both have atrocious striking.
d'alelio's takedowns were very impressive. nunes looked competent on the ground and very explosive standing... but she didn't have any answer for the wrestling. also, why the penetrate did big john restart them standing after the upkick?
smith/pennington was pretty garbage. pennington was looking decent early, and smith's leglock attempts early were pretty clean, but rounds 2 and three were ugly. smith won this on her pressure, conditioning and grit, not skill.
how can anyone say baszler won round 2 against davis is a mystery. great jiujitsu displayed from both, but neither have great wrestling or striking.
esparza/hyatt was better than expected. i can't believe i'm saying this, but hyatt's striking and jiujitsu were pretty good. unfortunately, she had no answer for the takedowns, dropping all 5 rounds in the process.Comment
