In theory, yes.

But there are politics to consider.

Silva's management will not accept a fight with him for another year or two, regardless of injury.

Why? Hes a HORRIBLE style matchup for Silva, and most viewers have no idea who the penetrate he is.

weidman is the biggest stylistic challenge right now for anderson and anderson knows it... It sucks tho because he prob won't get a shot and anderson / soares will continue saying 'we're not interested in this match up'.. i don't see weidman getting a shot, unfortunately.

anderson was prob hoping bisping won tonight, that match favored him and now the loss puts weidman all the more in any type of contention talks
