I found Mr. Nandor on sherdog, I have not heard of a single one of his opponents. As well as that, I heard an interview with Josh Barnett from MMA Hour from a few days ago, he seemingly has never heard of the guy before either. Hmm..should be a FOTY candidate....

Really thought they would put a bit more effort to get Barnett & Cormier respectable comp or at least a name before they jump to the ufc. They were on to something when they had Cormier fighting Mir but that fell apart. At this point, id just say bring in arlovski and sylvia just to have some semblance of a name and feed em to the wolves. It's ashame that Cormier got such a step down in comp. I think if he had beat Mir convincingly, he could have easily slid into either a title fight or a title eliminator bout. Now I think he's got about 2-3 ufc bouts before a title.

The reason they can not find talent is simple. 2 out of three title fights were announced too soon, when the fighters were not able to fight. Strikeforce has been sucked dry, and zuffa no longer cares. They want to get a few people over in the promotion on thier way out to the UFC and are taking whatever talent they can get to do so, which is few and far between. This card is a throwaway, DC and Barnett will be absorbed into the UFC, and thats all there is to say on the matter.

They owed showtime one more show before the contract died, this is one last "penetrate you" to showtime.

And as for the mention of Arlovski, would he rather be fed to the wolves for DC, and then cut, or go on getting paid killing shitty competition as a novelty act in Russia as he is doing? The latter has slightly more dignity and probably more long term paydays, as shitty as it is.

So I've heard, check out the recent interview with him on MMA hour where he talks about how GSP is a nice guy but not a good martial artist. Also, its come out, that hes agreed to fight Randy Couture, provided there is no audience. Guys out to left field, man.
