Betting on MMA is troubling because of the judges. Everything can go exactly as you predicted, and the judges could still rob you. Been robbed too many times.

What are the chances Nick Ring has improved his cardio? If an old chump like Cristiano Marcello can do it, surely Ring can. Doubt he has, though. Philipou could put him away in the 3rd, he's a lot stronger than McGee.

I know he doesnt exactly have Mark Hominick, Frankie Edga type cardio but I didnt think Ring's was necessarily that bad? He took over in the third round of the Head fight and finished him so his cardio cant be that bad. I have just watched the Ring/Mcgee fight tho and yes he gassed out in the third so maybe he does.

And in my opinion Marcello's cardio issues before were more due to the fact that he'd throw wild overhand punches and have shitty take-down attempts that would tired him out. I think the combination of fighting with a slightly more technical style and more importantly fighting in Brazil at home made him raise his game. Sometimes the desire to win and determination can make up for any cardio issues...I think that was more the case with Marcello in that Madadi fight.

He had 0 takedown attemps against Sam Sicilia, and was completely gassed in the 2nd round which led to an easy KO.

Ok well then that only further backs up my argument that he got by on heart and sheer desire to win against Madadi. Nonetheless, I'd have to watch the fight again but I've just looked at three play-by-plays and they all talk about two sloppy failed takedown attempts. He also got dropped early in tht second round so was it poor cardio or was he just discombobulated from getting hit by a power puncher like Sicilia.

Regardless, my point is that I try to stay away from just saying a guy has shitty cardio due to one poor performance (i.e Ring in third round against McGee). He's going to be fighting in his hometown against Costas so I'd imagine he's going to have worked harder than he ever as and that "home advantage" is going to help spur him on

One poor performance? Are you forgetting that he was also completely gassed in round 2 vs Justin Lawrence on TUF?

I was referring to Ring more as far as I'm aware the second McGee fight is only one where he's clearly gassed out late on.
