I think there is HUGE value at this line, everything aaron simpson does MIKE PIERCE DOES BETTER. I think it will come down to cardio and we've seen how simpson fades badly in the later rounds also,
may lay the juice for sure!

I don't know Pierce sort of only excels against guys with no wrestling background, if the guy has a wrestling background he sort of gets stalemated
it might go to a draw or split decision

I thought Simpson actually got better in later rounds of his WW debut...and he's said that himself claiming that he felt stronger as fight progressed which he never had at MW. Simpson has been in their with decent Middleweights - some middleweights that used to be LHW's like Markes, Munoz, Lawlor, and Schafer and held his own. Im a big Mike Pierce fan, have backed him in a lot of fights, but IMO the value is certainly with A-Train in this one. I think Simpson gassing out in second round against Leben has left an imprint in people's minds that he has questionable cardio when Im not sure if it is fair. He is getting on in age at 38 which is one thing that worries me as you'd have to imagine has already peaked by now. People should go back and watch the Pierce/Bradley re-match were Bradley almost had success at taking Pierce down a couple of times. Simpson is a superior wrestler to Bradley and also sets his takedown's up better as he's a lot less flat-footed so he may be able to steal rounds

Yep, likely to go to decision which immediately makes me want to play the underdog who arguably is the superior wrestler and is certainly bigger

Yep very possible, and he is def more likely to be the one finishing the fight if it does end inside distance

Pierce fights inevitably go to decision, and he seems to get underscored. Tough to pick him as a favorite, IMO.

Simpson has been training Muay Thai for years. Pierce has 0 Muay Thai. His only striking is boxing, and he's not a very good boxer.

It's a very even fight, but Simpson is the better fighter, in my eyes. Quicker, more movement, leg kicks, etc, better wrestling imo

Simpsson is too wide and that will be the difference IMO. But as you said Gabers its a close fight. Why do say such things as not in this planet and so on when you see it as a close fight. A little exaggerated Gabe.

Pierce by decision of the night. Simpson should have no problem losing at least 2 out of the 3 rounds if not all 3.

Volkmann/Pierce Parlay would be perfect. I cant see pierce losing to simpson, if koscheck cant take pierce down easily how is simpson? koscheck.

Simpson's been fighting some cans lately, but he is on the TRT now. Much improved cardio in his last fight, but against a legit fighter like Pierce I don't think he will be able to last. He's had several fights where he's severely gassed after 1 round and Pierce has a granite chin.
Pierce doesn't always have the best fight IQ though. If he half follows any game plan this should be an easy win.

"not in this planet" was in reference to pierce being better than simpson, not pierce beating simpson

Simpson's size should cause some real problems for Piece. Pierce is a gamer and will put up a fight but if Simpson can get this to the mat don't see any reason why he just can't smother Pierce. Pierce could always catch Simpson standing, but that's about the only out i see for him.

Not saying you're wrong, but to play devil's advocate, a) Koscheck barely had a camp for that fight and had no motivation after the fall out with Javier Mendez. He jus went through the motions in that fight. And b) Simpson might not need to take Pierce down as such, if he can just use his size advantage to grind against the cage then he may steal rounds in judges' eyes (whether rightly or wrongly)

Whaat did you think about Ellenberger? He looked a bit ill in the face to me!
A-Train said his weight-cut is easy now so wonder if it was harder than he thought
