It means little other than the fact that Gonzalez made it past every American League team and NL club with a worse record than Los Angeles on waivers, and that Boston and Los Angeles are now free to negotiate a trade. That is, provided the Red Sox don't simply let the Dodgers take A-Gone, which they won't.
It's highly unlikely Boston has any intention of actually shipping its first baseman out of town.

I know the Isotopes have a triple AAA all star catcher

So does Boston want an early 20's catcher from albuquerque

But seriously, I think I'll agree with rumnblack on this one

Now Arash Markazi of ESPN Los Angeles reports that there is a growing possibility that Adrian Gonzalez could be headed to Los Angeles.

Wow if that happens that would be completely ironic. Being a Padres fan I saw this guy turn into a star, now to have to play against him 20 times a year...

They aren't gonna give up until they take this division.

According to Gordon Edes of the Boston Globe, it would be Adrian Gonzalez, Josh Beckett, Carl Crawford and Nick Punto coming to the Dodgers. Still some challenges in the way, but we're closing in on a deal.

There goes my future bet on the Giants to win the West. Guess I will then have to bet on the Dodgers
