I like the Sox in this series, but I think the loss of Lowell is huge. I see Lester winning 2 games here, so the Rays need 4 of the remaining 5.

Tough series to forecast. I think the way the pitching matchups are setup, the Rays have the slightest advantage. Boston not going with Lester until Game 3 is dangerous. Having him for a potential Game 7 sounds good in theory, and I think everyone's expecting a close, competitive series, but they're running the risk of only getting 1 start from him if the series doesn't go the distance. In the end, the outcome may very well come down to the 2 Beckett/Kazmir games (Games 2 and 6 of the series). Both pitchers seem far from their normal (dominant) selves.

I'll say BoSox in 7, mostly because their bullpen is no longer a weakness, and as presently constituted is capable of rivaling TB's pen. But I have little confidence in that prediction. Too close to call, really.

BTW, Rays and Shields -110 in Game 1. Give me some of that.

sorry i don't refresh the thread every second like you. anyway, if you don't think the playoffs are in any way different from the regular season, you are an idiot. the red sox will win this series, not in a sweep, but rather easily.
