I'm going against everything I know line-wise with this one, though. Pinny closed at +106/-113 vs. Blowdog's -102/-108. That's normally an auto play on the favorite. I just hate Edwin Jackson. I think he's a bum. I'll take a seasoned vet like Carp all day in this spot, even if he's a shell of his former self. Plus, why are the Nationals a virtual PK at home? Initial line speaks for itself, at least in my opinion.

Carpenter isn't a shell of his old self. He may be a bit rusty bc of the injury but he carried the Cardinals to the World Series last year.

If he was able to beat Halliday and he Phillies in a decisive game on the road, I like his chances against Jackson here.

It's starting to freak me out a little how this year's post-season could mimick last year's post-season for my Cardinals.

Barely get in the playoffs, have to play the team with the leagues best record in the first round, have to clinch the series on the road, then possibly face a team that won their division and owned them in the regular season in the NLCS.

Of course I'm getting ahead of myself but you get the point.

Also, I like how Carpenter comes back from season ending surgery and Strasburg shuts it down completely healthy.

I'm still not crazy about a lot of decisions Matheny makes, which I think will ultimately lead to their demise.

With that being said, I'm not about to bet against proven champions -- even though the cast is different.

I don't think the Cards will repeat but I like how they step their game up when it's all on the line.

It doesn't matter what pitcher they are facing or where the game is.

Yeah, rough night for me between this split and my Tigers gagging thanks to Valfatass pulling his usual batting practice bullshit. I knew Jim Johnson was a fraud. Fvcker cost me a ton of fantasy money too, then the season "resets" and he becomes Jim Johnson again.

What u think about the Reds Nocoin? Even with Cain on the bump, I think it'll be hard to keep the Reds bats cold 3 games in a row at Great American. I don't think the Giants will have as much success against Latos. Night and day from the type of pitcher Leake is. Leaning Reds bro, what do u think? Is this a stay away game for u?

I actually really like this play. There's been something special about this overachieving team all year. I think they'll give whoever they face in the ALCS a real run for their money. Their rotation is not the days of Zito, Hudson, Haren, and Mulder, but these kids can pitch.

I lean Reds and Nats, but I'd basically be spitting in the face of momentum. Giants are managed better than Cincinnati and the Cardinals know how to close. The Nats don't.

It will probably be the Cardinals that lose since that's my team.

I played the Giants because they had momentum and Latos was on the mound. I learned my lesson long ago not to back Latos. The minute you do, he gets shelled.
