That Kazmir has allowed 0 runs in his L2 is one reason not to play him today. The law of averages has a cynical way of working such that he may give away enough runs in his next 2 to "maintain" his ERA.

I don't follow the "due" theory. Kazmir has some of the best stuff in the league, so his hot streak is more likely to continue than it is to end.

Kazmir has faced the Red Sox twice this season, 9 innings gave up 8 runs on 13 hits.

That means absolutely nothing because his first start vs. Boston was also his first start of the season afrer missing the first month with an injury, so you can toss that start.

He is +155 for a reason. Rays have no offense without Crawford and Longoria and the Red Sox are only 10-1 in Matsuzaka's last 11 starts.

True that Rays aren't scoring, but Sox won't score much here either, again making +155 valuable in a toss up situation.

RL with a team that hasn't won a game this year at Fenway when they were playing well, and now I have seen everything. One of the best home teams in baseball and they have lost 4 starts total out of 25 by Matuzaka all season long. He is 12-2 at home and 8 out of those 12 have been winners on the RL.

As for you other points, they are exactly the reasons why this line is inflated to the point where I got +155 with the better starting pitcher. If they have this matchup 100 times, Kazmir will win around 40 times, maybe even 42 or 43. You do the math at +155.

LT, look I actually respect what you say, but I just don't see it happening. We are in agreement about Kazmir is a great pitcher but Boston is just too good at home and I think we see them go 8-0 after tonight against the D'Rays. Kazmir hasn't shown me anything when pitching against Boston 1-4 last 5 outings at Fenway and 3 of those games were by 3 or more runs for Boston. I just think the way Tampa Bay is playing Boston will win this. Good Luck tonight on D'Rays, i am not personally on this one just the under. I think the only chance is Kazmir pitches a complete game shutout because if he is touched up at all Boston wins.
